There's so much choice. Obviously I'm a sucker for a bad pun. But I love the variety of names on here - great song lyrics, obscure references that I feel compelled to go off and google (and never google again in the case of dragon butter), bizarre word combinations and so on.

There are some notable exceptions but normally I make an assumption that if a poster can't think of an interesting name then they won't have anything interesting to say.

what does slutty ham taste like then? Is it dry cured or more honey roast?

I often find the spectacular names promise more than they deliver -

When I joined there were loads of 'I love' names around

And my name refers to the jewellers not a dd..... I don't see so many 'I love' names around anymore!

As a slight aside what is the "official" mumsnet short version of Dear Fiance? I have always used DF but really disgusted confused a poor poster who thought I had posted about sleeping with my Dear Father!

I joined MN, chose my username, and started posting long before I had realised that there were rules trends about what was a "good" username and what was not.

Hence my slightly hunnish and distinctly non-capitalised username.

To be frank, though, if anyone is prejudiced enough that they will skim over my posts based on my name rather than on the content of the post, that is their loss not mine.

Ah! Thank you Cleverything! I might change my name to the Danish for an end of season sale. It made me chuckle seeing the massive banners in the department stores.
