Names like Gemma82 or yummymummy1.

There's so much choice. Obviously I'm a sucker for a bad pun. But I love the variety of names on here - great song lyrics, obscure references that I feel compelled to go off and google (and never google again in the case of dragon butter), bizarre word combinations and so on.

There are some notable exceptions but normally I make an assumption that if a poster can't think of an interesting name then they won't have anything interesting to say.

Plus, MN did that to me, I reckon. Look look! just look at the time I'm posting and wasting money on amazon because of that effing toy thread

Penelope1980 · 01/09/2011 04:48

But how do you know what's behind my name? You don't know if my real name is Penelope, or if I was indeed born in 1980. And, how I came up with that name and year if not. Perhaps it is a subtle reference to a historical event that you don't know about? Or a shout-out to some pop culture that you don't appreciate? Wink

It is up to you to decide whether or not you are above reading posts of people based on a user name. It would be wise to not judge a book by it's cover, but again, it is a free world so read or don't read.

KittyFane · 01/09/2011 08:53

Is my real name Kitty Fane? Brew

HedleyLamarr · 01/09/2011 11:43

I like TheDoctorsWife46 as I'm a fellow fan. Some numbers are more than acceptable.

How are you today Mardy? All sweetness and fluffy bunnies?

TheShmoz · 01/09/2011 12:24

Have name changed (from shmoz) in honour of this thread. Smile

MardyBra · 01/09/2011 12:26

Yeah right. I'm just like Snow White. In fact, I'm hoping small woodland creatures are doing my domestic chores as we speak.

There is a tendency for the fluffy number names to conform to type though.

Just sayin Grin

scottishmummy scares me....

Pinot · 01/09/2011 14:57

et moi!

OTheHugeRaveningWolef · 01/09/2011 15:05

But if a scottishmummy71xxx turned up on MN, the real scottishmummy would have her for breakfast Hmm

Eglu · 01/09/2011 15:10

I don't think my name is cool enough, I'm crap at thinking up names. Have had a few but none were too fluffy I don't think. I've stuck with this one for a while as I can't think of anything else.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 01/09/2011 15:18

That's true, OTH. I'd like to see a scottishmummy-off whilst cowering behind the sofa

The name of scottishmummy proves that the op is talking out of her arse

MadFerret · 01/09/2011 15:32

In fact, I suggest a new name for the op>

ArsyBra. or Rzebra.

OTheHugeRaveningWolef · 01/09/2011 15:33

Arf at scottishmummy-off Grin

MardyBra · 01/09/2011 16:07

I said in the Op there are notable exceptions. And I said up thread Scottishmummy was one of them. And I've also stated IABU. What more do you lot want - blood?
