Names like Gemma82 or yummymummy1.

There's so much choice. Obviously I'm a sucker for a bad pun. But I love the variety of names on here - great song lyrics, obscure references that I feel compelled to go off and google (and never google again in the case of dragon butter), bizarre word combinations and so on.

There are some notable exceptions but normally I make an assumption that if a poster can't think of an interesting name then they won't have anything interesting to say.

what did mitmoo do anyway?

QuintessentialShadow · 31/08/2011 09:33

The fishy one would not even look past my front garden. I have "pebbly shit" all over. I have a ginormous rock garden at the front with arctic plants, rocks and pebbles, and stones I have found on the beach an in the mountains.
On the table on my balcony, I have Nice rocks I have Picked from the beach, nect to my pink geranium, which is in a nice. Lue pot.

I would turn the table a little and say:

If you can't look past bland names, various fashion faux pas, you lack imagination and debth.

Like a name, or some pebbles really say anything about a person....

mummyforeverandaday · 31/08/2011 09:34

lol @ hairypotter

it sounds like harry potter, but rude

:)

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 31/08/2011 09:34

Well, I guess I come under the bland and predictable name type, but I picked it in panic mode because my BIL made a pass at me and I was thinking "didn't expect that!".

I'll not be name changing though.

Skim away!

Birdsgottafly · 31/08/2011 09:35

OP i think you may have highlighted a new form of stereotying. No doubt this will feature in a reaserch project somewhere, soon.

So much for the internet means that we are all equal because we cannot judge each other on racial origin/colour/gender etc. It even removes the need to be able to spell or punctuate. It shows that where there's people, there's still prejudice/discrimination, alive and kicking.

nenevomito · 31/08/2011 09:35

Memoo has a name like Mitmoo and she's been around a lot longer.

Yes Mitmoo can call herself whatever she wants, but generally, if its very close to someone else's name then it helps to save confusion.

Its a bit like someone calling themselves porkamiseria IYSWIM.

CadleCrap · 31/08/2011 09:35

I think every one starts with a pretty bland name and then changes it to hopefully make it more interesting, but finding the right name can be really hard.
Did you know that the names of all the Octonauts chatacters have been taken! And I have NEVER seen anyone post under any of the names.

porcamiseria · 31/08/2011 09:36

babyheave picked on her! Oh god why do I even care need to do some work, but mitmoo seems to always get slated and I even started a thread in her defense as I though people were hypocritical

I need to get a life, seriously....

luxuryhamper · 31/08/2011 09:36

no i judge people on what they say (shock horror)

QuintessentialShadow · 31/08/2011 09:36

Mitmoo just stirs things a little now and then, like many of us do. Difference of opinion is still welcome on this site, or what?

MardyBra · 31/08/2011 09:36

So now I'm a home furnishings and style guru snob too!

Who's making assumptions now!

crazynanna · 31/08/2011 09:37

OriginalPoster · 31/08/2011 09:37

Think I might change to iluvmylil1s99 just to annoy mardybra...

MrsRhettButler · 31/08/2011 09:37

Who sounds like mitmoo? I like your name btw mitmoo, I always wonder what it means

ConstanceNoring · 31/08/2011 09:38

I get where you're coming from OP, but you could be missing out when you consider posters like 'scottishmummy' or 'mummiehunnie' they are surprisingly feisty IIRC !

porcamiserium · 31/08/2011 09:38

No you're right. It makes no difference if someone has a nn very close to yours. People may not get confused when they see a post and think its from someone they know.

I'll back away now.

mnistooaddictive · 31/08/2011 09:38

Am I bland? I have had this name for ages though so I am not changing!

MardyBra · 31/08/2011 09:38

Anyway you lot aren't bland enough fir skimming. Apart from the mummyto lot. I like an interesting phrase too.

OP posts:
luxuryhamper · 31/08/2011 09:39

having a differing opinion never seems to go down as well as it once did here

it seems to encouage lots of abuse from the pack - in my experience anyway

mnetters are merging into one opinion

RustyBear · 31/08/2011 09:39

A flowchart would probably do

(1)Does it have a number? No - Go to (2) Yes - Does the number make it a pun? No - Ignore Yes - Go to (2)

(2) Does it have 'mum' in it? No - Go to (3)... etc

porcamiserium · 31/08/2011 09:39

I've always secretly been jealous of WalterFlipsticks.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 31/08/2011 09:39

I assume that anyone with a 'mummyto' name is just a new mother As the children get older, they become less central to your personality. I was a 'mummyto' poster on other boards. But now my kids are feral

ConstanceNoring · 31/08/2011 09:40

babyheave picked on mitmoo ?

lol
