Just wondering ... you are all presumably parents. Would you all be happy if your DCs said some of the things that you say on here when they grow up? Personally I would be very put out if my DCs thought rudeness were ok. Discussion is one thing; being rude is something else entirely, even if it is "only" on an anonymous internet forum.

TheVermiciousKnid · 30/08/2011 14:01

'aw TheVermiciousKind thats awful!!! your setting the dog up for a very unhealthy view on his pedigree chum! next he wont crap without a doggie treat and when he does it will be in the salad drawer of the fridge and why????? cos of CB!!!'

Ah. You mean that's not the purpose of the salad drawer? I have to admit, our dog is quite big and squeezing him in there has been a bit difficult. I will have to find somewhere else for him to poo.

Don't post about being cruel to your baby if you don't want your bizarre parenting methods criticised.

TheBreadstick · 30/08/2011 14:01

CreepyWeeBrackets - wow, Banagate, before my time, but hilarious all the same. Did Peppermint Patty ever come back or is she now and forever MIA?

Pinot · 30/08/2011 14:02

What a dick.

tethersend · 30/08/2011 14:03

Whiff, I'd be more than happy if DD were to engage in witty banter and incisive debate when she grows up.

However, I'd be happier if she just called people cunts.

HTH.

AuntieMonica · 30/08/2011 14:04

hey, Whiff

who the hell made you the boss of me?

really? honestly? are you going to lecture us all on letting yourself down next?

usualsuspect · 30/08/2011 14:05

My teenage Ds is very good at sarky one liners

I taught him well

Ormirian · 30/08/2011 14:05

He doesn't like chicken nuggets.
He prefers organic, totally natural food.

Such as cow shit

ConstanceNoring · 30/08/2011 14:06

Whiff you do realise you're defending someone who just used the phrase 'woof to you lady' ?

VelvetSnow · 30/08/2011 14:06

jeez OP, I bet your arse is still smoking after that flaming...... Hmm

CreepyWeeBrackets · 30/08/2011 14:07

The OP became ever more reasonable as I recall. I hope she's still around.

Bananagate was a bit different though given that it was posted in AIBU and the fact that the banana was denied because the baby wouldn't eat her soup; cue outrage as many people would not like soup for supper.

I have actually allowed DS to dip a banana into other foods thanks to that thread Blush

exoticfruits · 30/08/2011 14:07

I had a look out of curiosity and couldn't see why you couldn't continue with the debate-it didn't seem too bad to me. At the weekend I was told that I had no imagination and didn't seem able to read! Since anything would appear stupid unless I happened to agree with the person who wrote it I wasn't bothered. Food issues always get people stirred up.

GypsyMoth · 30/08/2011 14:08

Ooh a sockpuppet!!

VelvetSnow · 30/08/2011 14:08

In fact, OP come back when you've started a thread in AIBU calling people who use AIBU bastards and then talk to me about flaming Grin

banana87 · 30/08/2011 14:09

NOT sticking up for the OP at all (I loathe CC), but just curious what those of you who are judging her would do in her shoes? If your 11 mo old DD ONLY ate (for example yogurt) and refused every other food? I could be using an extreme example (its hypothetical), but what would you do?

VelvetSnow · 30/08/2011 14:10

Or, start a thread about keeping £5.00 you've been overchanged in error, then talk to me about flaming.... Grin

MrsPlesWearsAFez · 30/08/2011 14:10

YABVU

You deserved far more of a flaming than you got tbh.

There is a very good reason why people questioned your methods - putting an 11mth old to bed hungry and leaving her to cry because she didn't eat her foods in the correct order is frankly bizarre, and undoubtedly cruel given that a child so young does not understand your weird rules.

You should read something about child development, then you might see how ludicrous this is.

AuntieMonica · 30/08/2011 14:11

is that a new name?

WhiffOfBath · 30/08/2011 14:12

Not defending her, Constance. I didn't care for her tone, as it happens (though agree re. sending children to bed hungry if they don't eat what's on offer). Just depressed by the fact that so many people are so rude to one another on here. What's going to stop children being rude if their parents think it's ok?

AnneWiddecomesArse · 30/08/2011 14:15

Bullying, flaming ?
I presume we're all adults here.
Even an Amoeba has the sense to move away from hostile stimuli.

VelvetSnow · 30/08/2011 14:15

I've had this name for a while - it's the one I've kept the longest actually, this one seems to fit. (And I've yet to upset anyone and need an immediate namechange Grin)

TandB · 30/08/2011 14:16

Hostile stimuli? Speak for yourself!

I am merely a slightly barbed stimulus.
