What haven't we talked about on mumsnet before? Is there anything new left to discuss?

triskaidekaphile · 23/08/2011 22:34

ikea, Apocalypse. (though that has most definitely been talked about before!)

I will devonshire, I suppose a good example maybe would be

'The reasons that parents won't give their children fruitshoots to drink because of a combination of the amount of shite in them, the price, that they believe water to be better and that they're ridiculously called 'fruitshoots'

Or the hypothesis that

'The reason parents won't give their children fruitshoots to drink is because they'd be laughed off MN if they admitted it'

is more likely to be true Smile

Have I remembered that right?

spiderslegs · 23/08/2011 22:34

*Paradox

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 23/08/2011 22:35

Ah, are IKEA kitchens any good ?

spiderslegs · 23/08/2011 22:36

Excellent example Agent Z

fortyplus · 23/08/2011 22:36

I could tell you about dragon boating instead of dragon butter Grin

AgentZigzag · 23/08/2011 22:37

Been supressed spiders Wink

AgentZigzag · 23/08/2011 22:38

And if it's not been supressed, how do you explain Mr Spock?

Huh?

Huh??

Can't.

Warlock · 23/08/2011 22:38

The 89 bus to Bestwood used to swap drivers at Sherwood bus depot. Then they closed the depot so the drivers had to do the full return journey :)

Warlock · 23/08/2011 22:41

and I agree that it isn`t much of a bus route if you want to go to Carlton !!

Honeydragon · 23/08/2011 22:43

Would the alien species have compatible bits?

I would like to know who collected the Tiny Terrapins from Kinder Eggs?

and

What should not ever be considered as a filling/topping for a baked potato?

spiderslegs · 23/08/2011 22:43

Ahhh, you say that, but have you ever seen him in the flesh??

No, no you haven't.

I need more proof, we should have evidence of a galactic civillisation.

Where is it?

Where?

For the love of God?????

AgentZigzag · 23/08/2011 22:45

I've never seen Australia in the flesh, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Prove to me they don't exist Grin

AgentZigzag · 23/08/2011 22:46

(I'd run like fuck if I actually encountered anything ET Grin)

triskaidekaphile · 23/08/2011 22:47

Slugs and snails are an alien race. And they're everywhere.

OP posts:
triskaidekaphile · 23/08/2011 22:48

IKEA kitchens rock, apocalypse.

OP posts:
spiderslegs · 23/08/2011 22:48

Easy Honey (in order of preference)

Cheese (no butter, sprinkling of salt, loads of salad on the side)

Left-over chilli, cheese, sour cream, maybe a few jalepenos, loads of salad again.

Leftover bolognese, bit of cheese, more salad.

All salad served must be mixed, onion heavy, light on the cucumbers & drenched in home-made dressing.

Contradict me if you dare.

Beans, tuna or coleslaw have no home there.

triskaidekaphile · 23/08/2011 22:49

Where is Australia not?

OP posts:
spiderslegs · 23/08/2011 22:49

Eeerrrrrrm, absence of proof is not proof of absence (contradicts herself).

Desiderata · 23/08/2011 22:51

I believe the question was what should not be considered ....

triskaidekaphile · 23/08/2011 22:53

Meant to say earlier that I like the sound of your nan. nevermindthenargles.

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 23/08/2011 22:56

Spiders legs I said not put on a potato, you fell into my cunning trap mwah ha ha h...oh bugger I can't be arsed with the evil laughter.

I'd probably shag an alien, there can't be much out there weirder than the humble scrotum.

spiderslegs · 23/08/2011 22:57

But this is where Fermi is interesting, there are many theories as to why we don't see evidence of them, not all of them hinge on the fact they're not there.

They may be hiding.

They may all wipe themselves out when the reach a level of technical competancy.

They may be destroyed when they are detected by something galactic-wide and rather horrid.

They may be watching our feeble attempts & have popped us in an exclusion zone.

There may be a galactic-wide event every few hundred million years that wipes out all life.

They may be too busy on MN to care to go out into space.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 23/08/2011 22:59

Mmmm.... hot sweet love with an alien? Hmm

If the alien looked like Jeff Bridges in Starman, I'd beat off the opposition be at it anytime, anywhere, any place - purely in the interests of scientific research, of course Grin

spiderslegs · 23/08/2011 22:59

They may be thinking about what not to put on a baked potato.
