OP - YABU. There is no need for a spechul newbie area. The ones who can cope stay, the ones who can't mostly go and find something that is more suited to them. Although I do think it would be a very good idea to not let them near AIBU for a few weeks, even if it's some newbies' primary stamping ground.
Perhaps if they click on an AIBU thread, a big flashing warning should pop up - then at least they couldn't say they hadn't been warned and go all flouncy-arsed you're-a-bunch-of-bullying-see-you-next-tuesdays-and-I-HATE-you on us.
