DrP - MN is an open forum with approximately 2 million users. All sorts of people pass through it's imaginary doors ( because remember, MN only exists in cyber space. It's not a fee paying exclusive club, or a building steeped in intrigue and mystery ( think hanger 18 ) it's a bleeding anonymous chat forum, any Tom Dick or Harry can join ( and they do )
And sadly, being allowed to type cunt/twat/fuck does not turn you into someone oh so very very witty - if only eh?

All good points carmina which beg the question why don't people ignore threads they don't like rather than being fucking tedious and attempting a kind of intellectual snobbery which only really exists in the mind of the type of people who think fuck is beyond the pale but Jim davidson was really quite funny having to comment

Jim Davidson was never funny - and I love swearing - I just don't rely on it.

I don't know anyone who relys on it. I see a lot of threads where people indulge in it, often in response to someone complaint about it.

See, with the greatest of respect, I don't think "'Josie Jump is my name - shagging & coke is my game' " is at all funny. It sounds exactly like someone swearing to sound cool, but using norty things like drugs and sex instead.
So it's a sense of humour thing: "off you fuck, cunty chops" makes me weep, "'Josie Jump is my name - shagging & coke is my game' " just makes me think mean thoughts. I'm sure lots of Nethuns aren't at all delicate wee flowers but it does seem that sometimes there is a very different idea between the users of both sites of what is funny or acceptable.

Anyway, that's why it's fabulous that there is a big ol' interweb and room for us all. I just hope we don't all get diluted into the same thing.

I found this site, I lurked for a bit, I giggled a lot, I plucked up the courage and I joined in.

I found other sites, I lurked briefly (or wasn't even allowed to lurk without signing up), I didn't like them so I left them to it.

I didn't feel the need to sign up to every site that wasn't for me and tell everyone off for not sharing my views/sense of humour. That would be rude.
