I consider myself an active proponent of equality of opportunity and a stern critic of discrimination... and yet I find that I can't identify with many of the viewpoints I encounter on the MN feminism page (and often say so). AIBU?

Freda. I would have a perfectly white duck called Freda.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 15/08/2011 17:31

Ducks are messy bastards. And they stink to high heaven. But if I had space....I'd so have ducks. And also a peacock.

I don't actually keep chickens though, not even plastic ones - I guess that's a slight drawback.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 15/08/2011 17:35

If you don't have a real chicken, you should at least invest in a Beyonce giant metal chicken. Because they rock. And don't shit copiously all over your patio.

Swallowed, chickens are well 'ard. I have one that beats up cats.

evenlessnarkypuffin · 15/08/2011 17:35

You could get the cat a chicken outfit?

My ducks would be lovely ChickensHaveNoEyebrows.

evenlessnarkypuffin · 15/08/2011 17:37

I have no chickens. I just love birds and animals generally.

They can't. They just do wet shits everywhere. Including their water. Which you have to change frequently. And in the winter, you have to keep defrosting it. Much better to have land with a pond and just let the ducks show up of their own accord.

I really want a white peacock.

Re very entertaining; we have had discussions that have included frothiness, chickens and coronas. We are currently at 332 messages and, despite a few little spats, everything has been going along nicely.

If you read into 'entertaining' the idea that there is some Machiavellian plot going on then you are probably 'deliberately misreading', enjoying sticking to your cauliflower guns or getting jollies from slandering someone you don't know.

Oh how wonderful the irony when the pot calls the kettle black Grin.

You're allowed goats!!!! I'd love some pygmy goats They do eat everything though. My friend had to rehome his after they kept eating their own housing, the chicken coop and the fence. The neighbours got sick of finding renegade goats eating their pants on the washing line. Some people are so unreasonable.

Why do people have goats?

I've always wondered. Chickens lay eggs, obvs. But what do goats do? Or are they just large pets?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 15/08/2011 17:42

You can milk a goat. Utterly pointless, of course, unless you like the taste of goat. Which is pretty much the same as how goats smell.

jennyvstheworld · 15/08/2011 17:42

Sorry Claw, sometimes RL gets in the way... horribly inconvenient!

AliceTwirled · 15/08/2011 17:43

Don't they have to have babies tho, and then you'd end up overun with goats Confused?

Whatmeworry · 15/08/2011 17:43

When I was a kid we had a menagerie - all sorts of rodents, an aviary of small birds like budgies, canaries etc, chickens, a duck, a dog, even some turtles. Then we got 4 cute kittens.

Within 6 months the only things not dead were the duck and dog :(

Pity really as those 2 produced more sh*t than all the rest put together....

jennyvstheworld · 15/08/2011 17:44

They eat a lot of goat in East Africa with plantain and chilli. It's pretty damned good!

I do like pygmy goats. They're adorable. But you know what I really want? An alpaca. Alpaca's look like the unholy marriage between a kitsch loo roll cover and a camel. The pinnacle of creation, imo.
