He has only been in government about 1 year, the economy has flatlined and already there are riots and looting in the streets! He doesnt listen, and just gets everything so wrong!

It would be absolutely hilarious, if only the consequences weren't so tragic.

But I need a good laugh, so AIBU?

I suppose by "they" you must mean members of the BC. But everyone else is alright to condemn, approve tough sentences and so on. So no one who took drugs is allowed to vote on or condemn drug use etc etc?

ChickenLickn · 19/08/2011 00:20

Blueberties, actually you can ruin things pretty quickly if you put your mind to it. Just ask the rioters. Or the bullingdon club tory government.

Cameron is an effete prick.

Lolling at the idea of Gordon Brown single handedly causing a GLOBAL recession in the 30 seconds he was in charge. Must've been off his tits on all those free prescriptions we get in Scotland and accidentally stood on the economy and broke it.

They should definitely bring back spitting image, it's the only bright side to a Tory government.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 07:10

Uh huh, they all forgot everything they learned in brilliant Labour-run schools in a year, and in a year they all lost their jobs in the cuts that haven't even been imposed yet. Uh huh. They were just so political, those riots. We just didn't see the bits where they marched on the town hall with banners.

You know, one woman sympathising with the rioters said it all. "It's not fair, they see all this stuff and they can't afford it, it's not fair for them."

Out of their own mouths.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 07:21

I'm pretty disguste by attempts to justify the riots with ref to the Bullingdon club. What a barrel scrape. How can you attempt to justify the riots? Have you forgotten what you saw?

EuphemiaMcGonagall · 19/08/2011 07:22

I would go back further and trace the roots of the decline to Thatcher: she positively encouraged people to be greedy and self-serving.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 07:25

And she did introduce the National Curriculum, used by Labour as a tool to downgrade the education of children everywhere.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 07:30

I don't anyone on the left ever realised - children are never grateful, they will take take take as long as you continue to give. Children always imagine their parents have bottomless funds of money and they assume it will always be freely available. If they don't have to do washing up for their pocket money they won't do it by choice.

The state created a level of child-like welfare dependency which mirrors exactly that of the indulged teenager. The indulged teenager saw that it was all about to come to an end, imagined the slipper would never be applied and threw an almighty tantrum.

applecrumbleandcream · 19/08/2011 07:47

This government have done absolutely nothing to be proud of!

Unemployment rising, cuts in essential services, food/fuel costs rising, pensions being ground down to be worth nothing, mass redundancies, pay freezes whilst cost of living rises, university fees, NHS waiting lists rising (now I've heard from my GP they are cancelling brain surgery!!), NHS cuts, rising crime, rising child poverty - can they do anymore??? Great track record so far.

But don't worry, in a minute Bluebertie will be on to tell us it's all the fault of Labour!!!

Whatmeworry · 19/08/2011 07:51

Takes the New York Times to make it succinct Wrong answers in Britain

EdithWeston · 19/08/2011 08:15

Actually, some posters are a bit slack in what they credit to which party and when. (Favourite example, that NI protection for time to raise families was introduced by the last administration - well, it was Labour but in 1978).

So yes, I'll say that pensions collapse was definitely during the last administration, pay freezes began then (don't our household know it), and redundancies had started (ditto).

But that's all OK to some as it was all the fault of the global crisis and the nasty bankers. Well, as we head into double dip, will the same response be given to the current Govt? (Especially as the period between the "dips" is not typical).

Or will "but look at what they did before then?" be the new call, somehow attributing responsibility to one side that is not demanded (indeed is shrilly rejected) for the other.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 08:24

Yes it really is the fault of Labour.

Who spent all the money?

Who actually left a note saying "there's no money left?"

Grow up ladies.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 08:34

In fact they didn't even just spend the money they had then. They spent all the moeny we're earning now and all the money we will be earning for some years.

It's all gone, all binned. And some schemes they dreamed up, like these PFI initiatiatives -- why, our children will be paying for those, big fat cheques to big fat private companies.

EuphemiaMcGonagall · 19/08/2011 08:36

Why did the riots only happen in England?

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 08:58

Because the Scottish and Welsh governments are still spending English money freely?

EuphemiaMcGonagall · 19/08/2011 09:00

That'll be it then.

Have you ever considered running for parliament?

applecrumbleandcream · 19/08/2011 09:10

Yes why did Labour have to spend so much money? - the reason WHY they had to spend so much money on things such as hospitals and schools was because they had been left in such a state by the previous Tory government. Labour brought in a few things like the minimum wage, Surestart, pension credits, free bus fares and tv licenses for people of a certain age, maternity leave, paternity leave and much much more.

We are about to go through years of strikes, riots and civil unrest that we haven't seen since the days of Thatcher. High unemployment, crime going through the roof and a rising gulf between the haves and have nots. The Tories and the Libdems have been caught out for what they are liars and deceivers. They attack children, the sick and disabled, pensioners and others who can't fight back, these peoples lives are becoming harder and harder, whereas the richest people in the country have seen their wealth go up.

Open your eyes and see just what this Tory led coalition abomination is doing to our country and its people and if you think they are better than Labour then I think you must either be fairly wealthy or from a different planet to myself.

pommedechocolat · 19/08/2011 09:38

'whereas the richest people in the country have seen their wealth go up' - Up? Really? How?

How can anyone possibly argue with raising the pension age? Insanity.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 10:00

To be honest I can't believe the people who think they know better -- "David Cameron is an idiot" etc etc. Purlease.

Applesandcrumble - they didn't have to spend so much money, at all. Billions thrown at schools with no improvement in standards - in fact, a drop in standards. A total waste of money. The PFI initiatives - a total waste of money. IT projects - total waste of billions and billions. Consultancies and quangoes - total waste of money. All that public sector spending speeding its way to fat private pockets for very little in return. Sometimes nothing in return. Billions on admin in the NHS.

Without this Tory-led coalition there will be no money at all in future for your sick and disabled and children. It's tough to be more long-sighted but there we are. Someone has to do it.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 10:05

"Labour brought in a few things like the minimum wage, Surestart, pension credits, free bus fares and tv licenses for people of a certain age, maternity leave, paternity leave and much much more."

And all this - apart from the minimum wage - without a thought about who would be paying or if we could afford it.

It's like be buying you a present on your own credit card. You're ever so grateful - then six weeks later you get the bill.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 10:10

Oh - except if you're not a taxpayer you never get the bill. So you simply can't see what the problem is. It's that assumption of the bottomless pit of money again.

2shoes · 19/08/2011 10:20

"Without this Tory-led coalition there will be no money at all in future for your sick and disabled and children. It's tough to be more long-sighted but there we are. Someone has to do it."

oh please, do not pretend that he gives a flying fuck about the disabled, he is shafting them, and it will get worse.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 10:32

Yes I think he really does -- he just doesn't give a shit about tossers with "bad backs" riding on the poverty of disabled people to get more money out of the state.

2shoes · 19/08/2011 10:44

oh so that is why he is hitting the most vulnerable taking away their DLA, and mobility element. can see his con has worked. as long as people believe that crap he will continue to attack the disabled.

Blueberties · 19/08/2011 10:50

Blame the scroungers who turned you into a target.
