In thinking the recent events are show that some parents should have their children removed at birth simply for being scum ?

There are children out on the strets, 8/9/10/11 years old out on the streets looting and firebombing properties. Where the hell are their parents ? Has anybody ever given a shit about them ?

I am sick to death of scummy fuckwits who pop out one kid after another, they don't teach them morals or empathy these kids are dragged up, they have no chance. I really wouldn't be surprised if some of them have been sent out with 'shopping lists' because after all, we all need a 50 inch plasma.

I really do think that people who aren't capable of being decent human beings should have the right to raise children taken away from them.

Rant over.

twinklypearls · 10/08/2011 10:22

But even if I approved of the sterilisation programme it would not work because many of these women (and men) want children. They are desperately want children to fill the hole in their lives. When you lack love you will do anything to fill that hole including having endless children with abusive twats.

porcamiseria · 10/08/2011 10:24

agree twinky, but if a woman has a series of kids and they are being reviewed by SS , and there is substance abuse and some violent partners, and there is suspected neglect, I dont think its unreasonable for the state to do something to stop her having any more? what do you think?

twinklypearls · 10/08/2011 10:30

In my heart I can't agree because that was the environment into which I was born. I just cannot approve of state sponsored eugenics . I would - and have - want to work with the woman to help her to decide not to have any more children.

Ephiny · 10/08/2011 10:30

Not sure about forced adoption etc, but I agree with Morloth: " I think what has happened on MN is that mostly the wet lefty liberal types don't actually have to face the reality of living with dangerous people"

This is spot on IMO. For me it isn't just the recent riots, but moving to a rough area of London a few years ago that changed me from a 'wet lefty' type to have more - er, 'robust' views. When you actually live among these violent, greedy, ignorant scum (and yes I will use that word) and become a victim of crime at their hands (we were attacked and robbed in our own home), you feel less inclined to make excuses about 'deprivation' etc. Especially as most of them don't actually seem all that deprived in reality, at least not in terms of money and material things, which is all they seem to care about anyway.

CardyMow · 10/08/2011 10:31

Twinkly - I am undergoing counselling at the moment to help me to understand my destructive choices in men, and to try to stop myself from making the same mistakes as I have previously made. It's a very new thing in my local-ish area, I have to travel but I'm prepared to do so. A lot of my friends who could also make use of this counselling group won't go because it is too far away. More investment in groups like this one, closer than a one and a half hr, 2 bus each way bus journey, might help people like me to change their lives for the better. But that would involve more investment. Which sadly our country just hasn't got.

I am trying to take responsibility for my previous choices and how it has affected my life today. And how to ensure it doesn't affect my children.

Thingiebob · 10/08/2011 10:31

I agree with post from Quis

This is such an ignorant and embarrassing thread!

working9while5 · 10/08/2011 10:34

You can't sterilise people because you don't think they are fit parents, come off it! You just can't. That is the route to Nazism.

Some babies are removed at birth where other children are in care.

CardyMow · 10/08/2011 10:37

porcamiseria - Once upon a time, I was in an abusive relationship, had problems with drinking too much and DD was under SS. Nowadays, that has all changed (teetotal, single rather than putting up with a relationship that wasn't good for the dc to be around, and no involvement from SS for the last 10 years as they decided there was no risks to my dc). If they had taken DD away instead of teaching me what I should be doing, I may never have become the person I am now. The problem is that for at least the last 10 years, there has been less and less money in the pot for SS to be able to HELP people like this. Now unless you are literally beating the crap out of your dc (and even not then sometimes, as we have seen in the baby P case and others), they haven't got the time or funds to help.

I'm glad that the time was taken to show me what I should be doing, and that I am now a good parent to all 4 of my dc. And I feel it's such a shame that this no longer happens.

catchafallingstar · 10/08/2011 10:44

I have to say, that in all my time on munsnet (nearly 5years now), thus us the most horrible thread I have ever read, notably the original sentiment!

Who is it that would decide who is 'scum' and who is not?

Who are they giving the children to?

Never mind designer babies, you are now talking about designing parents to your ideals. I am appalled!
I sincerely hope all the rooters are dealt with swiftly and appropriately but to punish a whole sector of people in your eyes who are 'scum' and remove their children (!) because you think this us best, is utterly outrageous!!!

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 10/08/2011 11:00

I wonder how Rupert Murdoch would have turned out if he had been taken into care at birth. Maybe we would have less of these vile views around?

TheFlyingOnion · 10/08/2011 11:03

Yes, you are being VU.

Are you a Daily Hate Mail reader by any chance?

HowlingBitch · 10/08/2011 11:05

You sound quite scummy yourself OP.

TanteAC · 10/08/2011 12:50

Ooo hear, hear OP, finally someone has the guts to say this! Well done!

But I, as an upstanding member of our society, am loathe to spend my taxes on a costly criteria-deciphering system and pumping more of my upstanding worthy citizen taxes on foster care and adoption.

What we need is a couple of big warehouses, a train line and same zyklon B gas. Heard it worked well for society once before.

Oh no, wait...

I have never said this to a poster on MN but fuck off. I am ashamed to share a society with 'scum' like you.

BustySinclair · 10/08/2011 12:57

when you get teachers in the dock, pleading guilty to looting, and women knocked off their bikes by kids of 7 & 8 throwing rocks at them, then you know that society has gone to hell in a handbasket

BustySinclair · 10/08/2011 12:58

Are you a Daily Mail reader by any chance?

what difference does that make? are you a lesser citizen if you read the Daily Mirror instead of the Guardian, the Mail instead of the Times? What if you read them all? Or none of them?

pffft!

working9while5 · 10/08/2011 12:59

Jesus Tante, thank fuck for that. I really thought that you were being serious about gassing for a split second

twinklypearls · 10/08/2011 13:13

Not that it matters but I think Alexis Bailey was a teaching assistant and not a teacher. It still makes me angry beyond words that someone who should be setting an example to our young people is capable of doing this,

twinklypearls · 10/08/2011 13:14

Busty I just think it is a typical Daily Mail opinion, just as my view is probably a typical Guardian opinion, even though I read the Mail, the Telegraph, the Independent and the Guardian.

jade80 · 10/08/2011 13:19

I'm a bit torn on this. I don't think anyone has the right to dictate who does and doesn't have children. But at the same time that saddens me, because there are plenty of lowlifes who don't deserve children. And why should a child be subjected to that sort of life?

I think a child's right to grow up in a safe loving house with parents who contribute to society and are not violent, don't steal, take drugs or drink to excess is more important than the right of a violent, thieving druggie to have as many children as they like. I suppose the problem is that the line would have to be drawn somewhere, but where? And by who? But isn't that better than leaving children to their fate in that kind of situation?

CognitiveDissident · 10/08/2011 13:23

I left the Guardian CIF as it was being invaded by DM trolls...

Now it seems Mumsnet has gone the same way.

Please make it stop.

VictorGollancz · 10/08/2011 13:30

While I'm sure there are some parents out there who just don't give a fuck, how about not tarring plenty of others with the same brush? How about acknowledging that there are plenty of parents out there who are struggling with their children running with gangs? Who are struggling with the effects of knife and gun crime in their communities? Or just might not be around because they're working their second job?

I've seen that video of the boys pretending to help that other boy, only to mug him, and they are a clear example of those who should be punished, but there are plenty of other kids out on those streets who are merely following their peers. There's a video of one girl who wanders out of Poundland with about a fiver's worth of crisps. Bloody stupid, but I'll bet she didn't smash the window or go out thinking 'I'm going to rob me some crisps'.

Who among us can truly think back to our childhoods and say we didn't do some bloody stupid - and yes, criminal - things because our mates did? I know I did, and my parents don't deserve to be sterilised because of it. I'd lay my last tenner that for every determined looter there's four or five others who think nothing more than 'let's go out and have a nose, let's go into that shop cos everyone else is, oooh, that top's just there, I'll have that'.

I'm not excusing their behaviour but I'd also lay my last tenner that many, many of those kids on those streets do not act that way in daily life.

working9while5 · 10/08/2011 13:34

Supernanny is a big hit. Lots of parents on there who have totally and utterly out of control kids who are, to all intents and purposes, doing their best to raise them but torn between wanting to be their friend and their parent. There is a lot of sneering going on as though the only parents who lose control are drugged-up single mothers on the game on sink estates, but check out Behaviour and Development on any day of the week and people from all sectors of society share that their kids are beyond their control...

Hey, novel idea. Sterilise all women! And men, too! We've cocked up the human race, let's just let it die out! Sound ridiculous? Of course it does.

TanteAC · 10/08/2011 14:58

Sorry working9while5

Honestly can't believe people can't see the parallels...

Must be great to have the total self-confidence to know that if there were such a law, no-one would ever, ever consider putting you in the non-Aryan race section Grin

This thread would be funny if it weren't so horrifying.

Al0uiseG · 10/08/2011 15:04

Missing the point Tante, race hasn't been mentioned anywhere.

TheDailyWail · 10/08/2011 15:11

Then AlouiseG strike through Aryan and insert Elitist.
