To think we should be able to hide posts by certain people?

Not sure if this has been suggested but anyway, there are certain posters I just can't stand. They never say anything bad enough to warrant reporting but I just always get the feeling that they are trying to get a reaction or deliberately saying the opposite to everyone else to get a rise.

I never reply, because I feel that would give them attention they don't deserve but they do annoy me. I read the posts before I see the poster's name as in sure many of you do and I think it would be useful to be able to just hide all posts by a particular person within a thread instead of hiding the whole thread.

So Aibu?

oohh, what do raspberries signify? Is that good or bad Confused

filthyfunkproject · 16/07/2011 19:56

I know a vegan who is so committed he doesn't wear wool, leather - nothing at all with fibres or material from animals -

Glitterknickaz · 16/07/2011 19:56

ner ner ner ner ner.....

giyadas · 16/07/2011 19:59

Grin so it's tomatoes for 'you're a twat' and raspberries for 'I win'. We're gonna need a whole load more emoticons.

giyadas · 16/07/2011 20:02

actually, don't we already have tomatoes? they're just in the form of biscuits

MynameisnotEarl · 16/07/2011 20:26

I have hidden a whole topic because I can't stand one poster who is overly agressive.

Glitterknickaz · 16/07/2011 20:27

It IS a shame on a thread that is otherwise interesting to have to leave it because of a single poster.

BupcakesandCunting · 16/07/2011 20:32

I think that we definitely need a flounce emoticon!

Glitterknickaz · 16/07/2011 20:32

Hell there's an entire BOARD for that, bupcakes! Grin

worraliberty · 16/07/2011 20:33

We also need a little drama llama emoticon Grin

Glitterknickaz · 16/07/2011 20:35
GreenEyesandHam · 16/07/2011 20:37

A little steaming pile of bullshit emoticon would be good

worraliberty · 16/07/2011 20:40

No, thank YOU Glitter....I now have a 12yr old son leaping around singing that Angry

We also need a dropping to our knees and sobbing emoticon Grin

BupcakesandCunting · 16/07/2011 20:40

Drama llama would be ace. Little llama wearing a feather boa.

A whole board for flouncing?! Really?!

worraliberty · 16/07/2011 20:43

But there are so many contenders and just one award Grin

giyadas · 16/07/2011 20:54

worraliberty · 16/07/2011 20:55

Oh stop being so dramatic giyadas Hmm

Better? Grin

giyadas · 16/07/2011 21:02

Grin I got a Hmm face! that's a good start
cheers worra!

IWouldNotCouldNotWithAGoat · 16/07/2011 21:09

Ha! I would have left MN years ago were it not for the person people I don't like!

I just have a compulsion to see what obnoxious smug shit they are posting today.

IDrinkFromTheirSkulls · 16/07/2011 21:18

I had another idea: How about an option to hightlight certain poster's posts in a particular colour, like we can do for our own or an OP. The only condition is that we are able to pick which colours, instead of just pink/olive etc.

I would pick black. Then I can't see the crap they've written at all.

And everyone I like can light up my screen like a mumsnet rainbow!

Would that be a better compromise? Wink

I always liked the blog that disemvowelled the offensive posts. I you felt like reading the post as a way to get your blood pressure high you could, if you put in the effort, but if you didn't feel like that, the disemvowelling would make it easier to ignore.

SpringchickenGoldBrass · 17/07/2011 01:52

Anyway you are all .
