Hello Longtime. I've had a look at our local cinema and me and DD are going to the 14.00 performance of the digital film. I really don't like 3d. I hope the 3d is more popular so we can get into the digital one, they are showing at the same times.

bruffin i know exactly what your children mean

i was 11 when the first book came out and have bought and read each one and seen the films as soon as they came out, so I feel like I have grown up with harry potter. I have recorded the premier show from sky which i am going to watch and wish I had a copy of part one to watch again before seeing it on friday

it's definitely not wrong to be excited about seeing it, i've been looking forward to it for I don't know how long. I will be taking a box of tissues

Someone needs to set up a dissection thread for when enough of us have seen it?

Oh I have had a bit of a crush on David Heyman since I saw him in an interveiw about 18 months ago.

Just read this on IMDB: "Linguist expert Dr. Francis Nolan devised the Parseltongue language for this and the other Harry Potter films which feature the serpent speak." OMG I met him when I was a student! Cool!!!

When JKR and Bob Hoskins were on the Jonathan Ross show a couple of years ago, Ross asked why Hoskins hadn't been in any of the HP films, given what a national treasure he is.

JKR said she would definitely find him a part - what happened?

Bob Hoskins would have been a good As Mundungus.

David Heyman is lovely.

Foofus - no countdown today?

I will pass on your love to David Heyman via my OH, who is now working with him on Gravity. I have never seen a man who works so hard (both OH and DH) and yes, he genuinely is very lovely. Softly-spoken, articulate and at just over two weeks away from being fifty, very handsome. That's David H, not OH.

I am SO excited and know I will cry. I work at a cinema and we are having a Midnight Show. The doors open at 11:30 PM Thursday and I get to watch for free as long as someone saves me a seat! I am so completely and utterly excited, and so completely and utterly sad it's the end.

I have a psychotic need to see Ron and Hermione admit that they're in love.

Ooh the countdown.

OK it is 51hrs 18 mins till official UK release 0.00hrs Fri 15th!!

Punkatheart - He is an extremely handsome man. Whenever I've seen interviews with him he comes across as such a lovely person. You can tell how passionate and emotionally invested he is.

Ha. Seen it. Tragically we could only see an English language version in 3D.

I'm very excited, but shan't talk about it. I get told off for telling people who wins! Grin

So kreecher, what did you think? I thought it was great though not as sad as I'd anticipated. The special effects were really good. My ds's would have rather seen it not in 3D but as you said that wasn't possible in English. Not sure that 3D really added anything to it.

Won't say anything else as most people haven't seen it yet...

Punkatheart, am now really nosey curious to know who your dh is!

Well he's the tired bunny who has not been home all that long and has gone up to bed - of course!

So; 2d or 3d?

Report
Punkatheart · 13/07/2011 22:56

2D. I went to see The Dark Knight in 3D and it made me feel sick...

Report
kreecherlivesupstairs · 14/07/2011 06:18

longtime I sort of enjoyed it, but really hate 3D. The special effects were incredible particularly like the Gringots scene with multiplying things.
I can't remember the name of the thing that Harry used to get Snapes memories, and DD is in bed so can't ask her. That was a moving bit.
I am glad I didn't cry. Me and DD went to Qburger for lunch before the film and I got a couple of handfuls of napkins just in case.
All in all it was OK but not marvellous. Maggie Smith was fantastic though.
