Orange slices and herbs I can imagine, but all else? I too worry about the poor vitamins and taste. Surely all dried, shrivelled and tasteless.
We have enough of that when Cook has been too busy gnawing off her padlock.

Thank you for searching the Scrolls. I had a quick look in the Encylopaedia Googlitanica and had to imbibe lots of our most raw juniper tisane to recover from the shock.

UmamiSanguini · 11/09/2011 07:57

(Ahem)

Rochester is safely installed in his cabin. I declare that just the sight and smell of the sea has so invigorated him, he already has his pencil out and working.

For everyone else, be sure you enjoy the delights of Southampton tonight, for we sail on the morrow!

UmamiSanguini · 11/09/2011 08:02

Love tap

You'll need to start at Mimi's post of Wed 23-Feb-11 08:41:46, though you may need to read back a little for the back-story.

Fiderer · 11/09/2011 08:03

She needs a chemise. The chill seems to have affected her eyesight.
He may stay as he is as he has a hat on so will not catch cold.

Who is at the end of his, um, rope?

Fiderer · 11/09/2011 08:04

Ooh, thank you.

UmamiSanguini · 11/09/2011 08:30

LAWKS!

Fiderer · 11/09/2011 08:52

Lawks indeed. Are they seamen who shall be on our voyage?

Having read the Love Tap thread I know why life in IPOAT Hall appealed to me. Poor Mimi. His loss.
Should any one other than the under 12s approach me I know I can rely on IPOAT to advise, encourage and console.

UmamiSanguini · 11/09/2011 08:53

Having read the end of that old thread, I would like to say:

  1. Where is Gibbon? Where is Cheerful? Where is MsMary?

  2. Jins promised us tales of drunkenness, which we have not yet heard.

  3. Hurrah and huzzah, dear Beri!
May your married life be merry
    May you gibber and groan
    And ne'er be alone
Let's open a bottle of (Dom) Peri!

Hullygully · 11/09/2011 09:28

Oh Widow I just read all that too...wher are they?

And aren't we all funny?

OP posts:
sybilvimes · 11/09/2011 14:59

You are all funny. Now you're lumbered with me though.

I can't tell a joke and once bemoaned this fact with dh, who instead of disagreeing with me like any decent husband would said I was lovable instead Hmm

The gadget shed is a fabulous idea. We can't call it the dehydration shed, as that sounds too much like somewhere Hully people would go to get pissed. We could try the bike shed, but again I fear it may prove too popular. Hmm, tis very tricky.

I have packed my cruise outfit but I am still not sure about the bag. Yes I can fit the tatting in, but is it perhaps a little tarty?

Jins · 11/09/2011 17:31

Did I really promise tales a drunkenness? Lawks my memory is fading as fast as my hair colour.

I fear the bag is tarty Miss Sybil. Along with the rest of the outfit. You must look closely at the clothing list supplied when you join this thread.

CheerfulYank · 11/09/2011 17:42

Oh, what a journey I've had to find you all!

UmamiSanguini · 11/09/2011 22:00

Quick, Cheerful, pass the rum! 'Tis only a few hours before we must embark on our voyage and these friendly old salts would love to hear about your journey!

The current Mr Dragon has a cyber shed in the garden, that combined with his frequent jaunts to furrin parts and travails round the countryside are what maintains the longevity of our happy little union.

PrincessFiorimonde · 11/09/2011 22:35

We have people staying. They are very lovely, but have been here 3 days now and I have run out of nice conversation. Currently, however, they are asleep, as DP and I hit on the cunning plan of taking them out for a late lunch and getting them drunk plying them with vino. (DP has fallen foul of his own plan and has also keeled over gone to bed. I, however, am made of sterner stuff ...)

Cheerful, how lovely to see you.

Widow, the lovely Lady Gibbon is, I believe, on a MN break (how dare she?). Have not seen MsMary for many a long while , but I know she is an inveterate name-changer.

Love and kisses to everyone else.

(Except for Mr Rochester and his, ermm, not-so-fragrant-leg. What is to be done? )

PrincessFiorimonde · 12/09/2011 07:37

How so, dear Mistress Cheerful? (On the 'volatile and vulnerable' stakes, I mean.) I hope no one has upset you.

MadameDefarge · 12/09/2011 09:35

Ladies, a quick question, ds didn't do sats at his wickle lentil weaving school, but has been assessed at level 5c in English at beginning of year 7. Is this good?

Hullygully · 12/09/2011 10:00

Apparently level 5 is typical for a 13 yr old and a is top within that

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 12/09/2011 12:46

blimey! maybe MasterDefarge is destined for great things after all! I shall ask dear Prinny to support his advancement...

sybilvimes · 12/09/2011 16:10

You are right Jins, the bathing suit is perhaps a little too revealing although the Captain was most appreciative when I showed him. Luckily I was able to quickly rustle this up out of the drawing room curtains and trust it meets with you approval.

I also found room in my tatting bag for a few bottles of last year's blackberry gin. If anyone would care for an aperitif before dinner, please feel free to join me in my state room (upgrades self...)

minimammoth · 12/09/2011 16:44

Lagging behind as usual. The drying-thingummy sounds intriguing, I am sure we could make good use of it in the shed. I did find a pressed, dried frog in the conservatory only t'other day and thought how useful it might be to add a litte 'je ne sais qua' [not sure if I have the spelling right, you gels can correct my french.]to the uplifting tisane recipe< channeling Nanny Ogg>
