I don't think I am but am prepared to be told I am if the MN Jury thinks so

DD1 is 12, she is at her dad's this weekend, and has gone to her grandmother as they have a farm and it is silage time.

She has just sent me a picture of herself in overalls DRIVING A TRACTOR WITH A TRAILER ON IT

I have texted her and she is delighted to be allowed to cart the "near home" fields where she doesn't have to go on the road.

I am most displeased about this. I think it's dangerous and irresponsible.

But past conversations with ex when DS was this age did not go well, as he cannot see the problem nor can his family. They all did it at that age.

So, oh MN July, AIBU to think she's too young, it's too much responsibility and far too dangerous?

Rosie, darling, you're up far too early to be worrying about this thread! It's all been said, there'll always be someone who's only read the OP and wants to say the same thing as has been said a million times.

I really hope you can get through to your daughter and stop this happening, it must be really worrying for you. I was going to post an anecdote in support of you about a case I dealt with when I started out in practise, where a parent let their 17 year old, who was unlicensed, drive their car "for practice" on a quiet back street, and he wrote it off. He was fine, but the legal repercussions that resulted from the fact that it was illegal went on and on.

Um, but then I decided not to because I don't want to worry you more than you already are. I just failed at that, didn't I?

I did work in a large farming community for a little while and did drive a small tractor and trailer and don't remember once seeing children this age driving heavy machinery. Once they got to about 16/17, perhaps older they were allowed to help. That's why I was there so there children didn't have to.
