to not understand why people think it's a good idea to flood the country with people of other races and cultures?

It is said that multiculturalism is a 'good' thing, why? You want your kids to mix with people of other cultures - take them on holiday.

Why is it a good to create areas with pockets of people from other countries who don't particularly want to be here, like us, our culture, food or weather, and are basically only here to bleed (for want of a better word) the country dry of as much money/services as they can get? That is the ugly truth. A lot of their money is not put back in the economy here, it goes out of the country to build houses/buy cars for their families back 'home'.

In my street (coucil housing), 7 out of 15 houses are occupied by foreign nationals. They do not mix with anyone else except their fellow countrymen (the 2 polish families have riotous barbecues every weekend). As I walk to the town centre, at least 1 of out every 3 groups of people are talking in a foreign tongue, they would not pass the time of day with you and I am far outside London.

Explain how this is benefitting our society as a whole. The old chestnut 'they are doing jobs we don't want to do' is wearing thin. If we needed doctors and nurses etc, why was this not planned in advance and quotas not figured out to make sure our young were trained for these jobs with incentives put in place? Is'nt that what the government is supposed to do? At least they would be putting their wages back into our economy.

Call me a racist - whatever. I know what I'm talking about with first hand experience.

Flame away.

And you, OP, are descended only from the pure blood of the very first settlers eh? No Normans, Vikings or lost Spanish sailors anywhere near your bloodline, no siree Grin.

And what music do you listen to?
And what foods do you eat?
And what about the agricultural systems that moulded your green and pleasant land..?

Ah, thought so.

mauricetinkler · 02/07/2011 11:38

The OP has left himself open to ridicule with this post but...that doesn't mean there isn't a proper debate to be had about immigration. It shouldn't be a career-ending offence merely to raise the issue and yet that's exactly what it has become for MPs.

The OP has also started a rant about capital punishment.

I'm presuming that the teenagers have broken up by now Hmm.

soymama · 02/07/2011 11:46

I know exactly what the OP means.

MademoiselleDuPont · 02/07/2011 11:47

If the world hadnt changd so much and globalisation hadnt taken such a firm hold perhaps there will be a need for debate. Migrants from outside the EU dont bleed the system, their visas dont allow it! Its so much easier for the white british yoof stranded describes to bleed the system than these migrants. It is their choice to send their hard earned money home to their families, others may spend it on booze and fags and holidays. Each to their own. And OP you have too much time on your hands if you know all the details of other people's life and what they do with their money. Get a job or get a life!

Salmotrutta · 02/07/2011 11:49

The OP has gone off to read The Dandy and Beano in the park with his mates Funtime.

shudabinme · 02/07/2011 11:51

I'd love to go to a riotous barbeque....

Funtimewincies · 02/07/2011 11:52

Or, if you read a certain paper, he'll be swigging White Lightening before a spot of happy slapping Mademoiselle.

Quite thesecondcoming. For example (in the possible case of the OP), lack of genetic variety can make you an arse.

Salmotrutta · 02/07/2011 12:01

Great angle TheSecond!! - a refreshing view and very pertinent. Smile

quirrelquarrel · 02/07/2011 12:14

Don't care about the benefits of multiculturalism (I think it's an unhealthy way to look at it- as if they were performing animals only worth something if they produce the goods), I care about fairness i.e everyone has a right, if we're talking about rights, to go where they want within the bounds of possession and public property.

I know that's not your point, but I'm sure lots of people who think the second thing (that everyone's got a right to be here) are trying to win people over to accepting immigration by pressing the first point (how great multiculturalism is) because it's more accessible/less 'radical', because people are selfish and more likely to respond to that, whatever.

BagofHolly · 02/07/2011 12:15

"I based my OP on the FACT that the vast majority of immigrants would rather be in their own country than over here. That is what they consider as 'home' and that is where their patriotism lies. I KNOW this from talking to them"

I'm in London. I'd rather be back in Lancashire - a very different culture, cuisine and language. Does your political theory extend to internal UK migration? Should I stay or should I go?!

quirrelquarrel · 02/07/2011 12:16

It's a good point, TheSecond, but the antinatalists strong against overpopulation will override that in a second.

nevergonnahappen · 02/07/2011 12:17

thesecondcoming i read a book that whos name escapes me but it also held your point of view about mixing cultures also creates a stronger gene pool x

HoHumm · 02/07/2011 12:17

How very dull - resorting to personal insults yet again instead of answering the question.

OP posts:
nevergonnahappen · 02/07/2011 12:23

didnt realise you asked a question thought you were just having a racist rant

Salmotrutta · 02/07/2011 12:28

Could it be "In The Blood" by Steve Jones (geneticist) never?

It accompanied his TV series, and one example he covered was the high rate of genetic diseases suffered by Finnish people. Their geography has led to them having more "pockets" of populated areas so this leads to more inter-relatedness and higher levels of genetic disease showing up in the people.

Of course it might be a different book entirely.......... Smile

Sorry OP. I too thought that you were generally having a rant, especially when I realised that you'd started another similar-tone thread.

YABU. Question answered.

sundayrose10 · 02/07/2011 13:24

This is not the first time I have noticed FabbyChic's views. Interesting.

TheSnickeringFox · 02/07/2011 13:43

OP are you a name changer? If so, why don't you have the minerals to post under your usual name? Oh that's right, because you know you're being a racist.

Right, must dash, got to stop my immigrant dh to stop flooding our green and pleasant land. Which half of ds would you like me to send back with him?

inatrance · 02/07/2011 13:57

Its a new moon!! Always brings out the trolls from under a rock! Grin
