to not understand why people think it's a good idea to flood the country with people of other races and cultures?

It is said that multiculturalism is a 'good' thing, why? You want your kids to mix with people of other cultures - take them on holiday.

Why is it a good to create areas with pockets of people from other countries who don't particularly want to be here, like us, our culture, food or weather, and are basically only here to bleed (for want of a better word) the country dry of as much money/services as they can get? That is the ugly truth. A lot of their money is not put back in the economy here, it goes out of the country to build houses/buy cars for their families back 'home'.

In my street (coucil housing), 7 out of 15 houses are occupied by foreign nationals. They do not mix with anyone else except their fellow countrymen (the 2 polish families have riotous barbecues every weekend). As I walk to the town centre, at least 1 of out every 3 groups of people are talking in a foreign tongue, they would not pass the time of day with you and I am far outside London.

Explain how this is benefitting our society as a whole. The old chestnut 'they are doing jobs we don't want to do' is wearing thin. If we needed doctors and nurses etc, why was this not planned in advance and quotas not figured out to make sure our young were trained for these jobs with incentives put in place? Is'nt that what the government is supposed to do? At least they would be putting their wages back into our economy.

Call me a racist - whatever. I know what I'm talking about with first hand experience.

Flame away.

Hohumm just because most people you have spoken to say they would prefer to be back in their 'home' country doesn't make it a . It's just an opinion based on your observations. If you were to link your statement to some concrete statistics then I'd more inclined to see it as a fact.

Also, the immigration that happened 15, 50, and a hundred years ago relevant because it made this country what it is today.

Solidarity · 02/07/2011 10:38

I don't think she's talking about the import/export of foods lol

Op give up - you're on MN which is predominantly liberal and female.
You will never get anyone to agree with you.

Wrt the op being thick - Angela Merkel said multiculturalism has failed and she's chancellor of Germany - I doubt she got that job with a couple of GCSEs and a swimming certificate.

You're just on the wrong forum dude.

stillfrazzled · 02/07/2011 10:38

Threads like this make me very enthusiastic about immigration, in the hope that lots of interesting new races and cultures will dilute the country's twat levels. As personified so admirably by the OP.

droves · 02/07/2011 10:41

i have oone word to say ....that word is gobshite !

Enraha · 02/07/2011 10:41

Stillfrazzled. Quite

GabbyLoggon · 02/07/2011 10:45

stopping them would prove difficulkt in our little Island. There is a history of our exploitation

RunAwayWife · 02/07/2011 10:47

Depends on if they bring their own goats or expect the British tax payer to provide them with a goat Grin

Scheherezadea · 02/07/2011 10:48

What looks nicer? A flat green lawn, or a gaden full of flowers of different shapes, sizes, colours and smells.

It makes life interesting. You're not just racist, you're incredibly dull and boring OP.

nevergonnahappen · 02/07/2011 10:48

my ds is from a multi cultural marriage! he is gorgeous!! polish people do fab bbqs!!

MademoiselleDuPont · 02/07/2011 10:50

Well I am an immigrant who has stolen not only your jobs but one of your men too. He wanted to be stolen very badly and will not take no for an answer. We have two gorgeous children and have riotous barbeques. We will not be inviting you OP, we dont like shit talking people at our barbies.

RunAwayWife · 02/07/2011 10:54

Can I come to one of your BBQs???

Riveninside · 02/07/2011 10:54

"
I thought we'd grown up a little and people were finally realising the country is too full, and not everybody wants the culture of our country changed."

Define 'full'
And what is wrong with changing culture. It always happens. Or we would still be hitting each other over the head with rocks or burning witches in a theocracy or keeping poor people in workhouses. The UK is constanrly changing, and generally for the better.

GiveMeSomeSpace · 02/07/2011 10:56

I hope you haven't got children HoHumm - because if you do, the poor sods will end up as underachievers just like you - blaming everything and anything else for their underachievement. You can grumble and gripe together and then, for good measure, pass it on to the next generation of underachievers.
Don't worry, there'll be plenty of people to fund your underachievement - and a lot of them will be immigrants.
Hope this helps...

nevergonnahappen · 02/07/2011 10:58

yes, only have balcony though so can only have 2 people!!

DialMforMummy · 02/07/2011 10:59

I hope you haven't got children HoHumm
quite, given the country is full. Is it one in one out?

Riveninside · 02/07/2011 11:01

You cant blame immigrants for our poor schooling and dire education system or lack of get up and go in many young poeple. Im appalled at how many young people come out of school unable to read properly let alone do maths. Thats why we need immigrants. Employers choose the best.

alexpolismum · 02/07/2011 11:02

Riven/ Mlle du Pont - my cousin and I both live abroad, so I hereby donate our space in Britain to your DHs...

RunAwayWife · 02/07/2011 11:04

I was one of only 3 white children in my first primary school, it was great.

The school my youngest son is at is mostly white English children and I feel a bit sad that he has never managed to experience the many cultures I did at school (same with DS1 who went there and is now at high school but again not very mixed).

However one of DS2 best school friends is a little boy from a Muslim family and has been for the past 7 years, they will be going to different high schools in September and DS2 is sad about this, in face the boy will be at DS2 birthday party today and is then going to visit family in Egypt and not coming home till just before school starts in September so I think this afternoon could be emotional.

The only way to stop the mistrust and hate of all things different is to learn from each other and you can not do that on a two week trip

usualsuspect · 02/07/2011 11:07

I'm off to my sisters birthday bbq this afternoon ,shes married to an Asian guy ,her eldest dd is married to a Jamaican guy

Salmotrutta · 02/07/2011 11:08

nevergonnahappen · 02/07/2011 11:08

".....In India, they are building state of the art libraries and universities, not shutting them down...."

If perhaps we weren't paying for those with hundreds of millions of pounds of foreign aid, perhaps we might be able to afford to keep ours open?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/07/2011 11:20

no British families ever have riotous barbecues of course...

MademoiselleDuPont · 02/07/2011 11:29

Well Fanjo, the OP may not have had the opportunity to attend a riotous British babrbeque....I doubt anyone will invite him/her. In case he/she targets the food which is also flooding in from outside our precious Britain. I bet he will be trying to stem the flood armed with pure vitriol
