to not understand why people think it's a good idea to flood the country with people of other races and cultures?

It is said that multiculturalism is a 'good' thing, why? You want your kids to mix with people of other cultures - take them on holiday.

Why is it a good to create areas with pockets of people from other countries who don't particularly want to be here, like us, our culture, food or weather, and are basically only here to bleed (for want of a better word) the country dry of as much money/services as they can get? That is the ugly truth. A lot of their money is not put back in the economy here, it goes out of the country to build houses/buy cars for their families back 'home'.

In my street (coucil housing), 7 out of 15 houses are occupied by foreign nationals. They do not mix with anyone else except their fellow countrymen (the 2 polish families have riotous barbecues every weekend). As I walk to the town centre, at least 1 of out every 3 groups of people are talking in a foreign tongue, they would not pass the time of day with you and I am far outside London.

Explain how this is benefitting our society as a whole. The old chestnut 'they are doing jobs we don't want to do' is wearing thin. If we needed doctors and nurses etc, why was this not planned in advance and quotas not figured out to make sure our young were trained for these jobs with incentives put in place? Is'nt that what the government is supposed to do? At least they would be putting their wages back into our economy.

I am completely correct in thinking that most of the immigrants not born here would rather be in 'their' country not ours, but they would like the same luxuries that we take for granted like free speech, a chance to provide for their family and decent medical care. What I don't get is why we Western countries are quite happy for them to come over here to get a 'better life' rather than try to sort out the problems at source.

Why are we sending billions in foreign aid to countries where the dictators spend it on arms, whiskey, space programmes, palaces and Bentleys and the people see none of it. Why is there this disparity in the fortunes of Western and Third World countries. If it is the government at fault, why are they not removed? We only seem willing to help countries where we will 'get' something out of it whether that be security for our own country or oil!

Are all you looney, leftie liberals quite happy to sweep this all under the carpet and just welcome them to use our own precious resources and erode our national identity rather than see the bigger picture?

In this day and age, everyone should be able to carve out their own piece of happiness and they should not have to leave the countries of their birth and extended families to do so.

The problem is people aren't able to differentiate. Attitudes like this do affect those who are born here but with different coloured skin.

We still get abuse despite contributing to society often in far greater amounts than those who you would no doubt describe as 'indigenous', and actually just as English as they are.

By the way, you might want to learn the meaning of the word immigrant if you feel you have to subsequently qualify it's use with 'not born here'.

Have you never been in an hospital? There are plenty of foreign doctors and nurses, so much so that the NHS has been banned from recruiting medical staff in 3rd and developing nations.
My maternal grandfather was Polish, my father's Irish, my Partners 1/2 Polish and my sister in law's Indian. Among my family as a whole, there are 2 nurses, a GP, a child psychiatrist and a school teacher. How dare we all come over here and work our fingers to the bone for the NHS!! Maybe you should protest by refusing any health services from these mucky foreigners who shore up our crumbling health service.
