That's it really. Some posters seem happy to bandy around the term quite happily on here but I suspect they are all talk with very little trousers IYSWIM. There are others who I am very certain could call a fanny a vagina.
So AIBU in thinking people are vey happy to type the word but out there in the real world face to face with another human being they wouldn't have the front/arrogance/nastiness to do it?

I don't think I've ever accused someone of being a cunt face to face in anything other than an obviously jokey way. It's not a word I use often but then I don't swear much these days anyway.

Pumpernickel10 · 24/06/2011 09:15

I say the word on a daily basis as I've the balls to do it

LostInTransmogrification · 24/06/2011 09:16

I don't find the word offensive (not sure how much that is down to being Scottish). I dont use it often but would if it was appropriate, for example if I found out DH was cheating I would probably 'sink my teeth in his B U M and call him an effing cee'

Greythorne · 24/06/2011 09:16

For fuck's sake. What is wrong with people. "He massively deserved it"? What? He deserved being comoared to the female sex organ? Get a grip.

I object to it on the grounds that people who use it must have low intelligence if they can't see that there's nothing insulting about a cunt / vagina / female sex organ.

Reclaim the term and find other insults. Please.

jesuswhatnext · 24/06/2011 09:17

greythorne - your post has made me re think my use of the word - i have always saved it as the worst possible insult, i shall now change my insult to something else! (im being deadly serious btw!)

suggestions on a postcard please

Greythorne · 24/06/2011 09:18

Excellent, jesus!

ShirleyKnot · 24/06/2011 09:18

yup. work in a male environment in if I got the willies everytime someone swore around me I would be permanently willied.

AuntieMonica · 24/06/2011 09:18
Grin
Lunabelly · 24/06/2011 09:19

Well, if we don't like the word, we need to come up with one that adequately expresses everything that cunt (when used as an insult) does.

Until then...mea colpos

Pumpernickel10 · 24/06/2011 09:20

auntiemonica :) Grin :)

AuntieMonica · 24/06/2011 09:20

and have to agree with Greythorne and jesus - we should reclaim the word, but then i'd have to rethink my whole swearing repertoire and stop using 'prick' too, wouldn't i?

jesuswhatnext · 24/06/2011 09:20

thats alright greythorne! Grin god knows what im going to use instead though!

Pumpernickel10 · 24/06/2011 09:20

jesuswhatnext · 24/06/2011 09:21

crazynanna · 24/06/2011 09:22

AuntieMonica · 24/06/2011 09:23

fucknugget is a good one, and fairly non gender specific, non?

jesuswhatnext · 24/06/2011 09:23

thats the thing isnt it, its such a wonderful 'sharp' word!, it conveys such huge aggresion (all good reasons not to use it given its meaning i suppose) and i think when i have used it i havent given the meaning any thought at all, just enjoyed the shock and awe it produces.

OracleInaCoracle · 24/06/2011 09:24

I like fuckwitted knobrotter

Fifis25StottieCakes · 24/06/2011 09:24

OracleInaCoracle · 24/06/2011 09:25

Its a word that can be said with real vitirol. sharp, succinct and without the rick of saliva spray/dribble that ruins the moment.

Pumpernickel10 · 24/06/2011 09:25

Well we have just had a look in the Oxford English dictionary and "cunt" is in there. Not all uneducated use it. I've a masters and it's my fave word :)

Pumpernickel10 · 24/06/2011 09:26

BulletWithAName · 24/06/2011 09:27
