destinationzero - You are totally wrong. People dress certain ways/have haircuts for a wide range of reasons. Punks didn't dress like punks because they wanted to get the best looking boys/girls. Black people didn't start swearing affros in the 70's to get the best looking boys/girls.

I have been with my female partner for 22 years. It is a long long time since I was going out looking for someone.

You may choose how you dress/look based on getting the best looking person; but lots of people have other reasons.

Fat and ugly is in the eye of the beholder, just like everything else. Just like the 16 stone really. On someone 4' 10" it might not appeal. On another woman of 6' 2", it just appears deliciously womanly (I'm speaking from experience on the latter).
