I rarely get the look, either. From men, quite often. From women, almost never.

"couples coming on to you" - sounds seriously yuccky! But it does sound as if you are giving off signals even if these are unconcious.

Lenin, thanks for the Ma Rainey link: I loved it . My dp wrote a book about women performers once that was full of women like her. It's amazing how many of the top showgirls were and are lesbian. Not so good, loads of them were really crap mothers.

I've been watchign 24 hrs in A&E and that sister in charge of A&E has became quite oddly attractive to me as a totally straight woman . I have decided its because she has a really compelling personality - tough, caring, straight (forward not sexually obviously) as a die, hard working - just a generally truly good person (from what the TV has shown).

Combined with this thread it has become quite easy to see what anyone would find attractive about her.

Though I must say that Hester is really quite fanciable too (in a not enough testosterone kinda way)

Kewcumber > - it comes down to personality in the end. Looks attract you initially but you have to like the person to keep it going - ( like any relationship ) - I'm not homosexua > but I really fancy someone I know ( who is a lesbian ) I have read Hester's posts over and over but I still can't quite understand why I find her so attractive - she looks very boyish and rejects pretty much everything 'female' ( she'll never have kids - that's for sure ) - but I love her personality more, and that's what keeps me in thrall ( that and the fact that she looks so dirty -,lol )

Haven't read entire thread yet, on phone, sorry. But where does this idea that lesbians look like men come from? I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of women I've met who look like men, and I've spent more hours than I should have in gay bars. Butch women look like WOMEN just not the feminine stereotype. Open your eyes to see past your preconceptions of clothing and hair and see the whole person fgs.
