Every thread I go on is filled with people sayign "I'm from the north east..."
Why are you not all meeting us for cake?

Sign in here to say hi to other NEers, and tell us are you:

  • North of Middlesbrough?
  • North of Durham?
  • North of Newcastle?

I will try, if one is ever in Newcastle.

Curiousmama · 16/06/2011 20:01

Dooin inbox me their names if you want although I've only been here a year. I have made myself known though gobshite Wink It's funny coming from a big town to somewhere where everyone seems to notice you. Really like it here though. Am trying to plan a night in the community centre for next fri as it's a ladies night and my birthday on the Sunday so think some friends are travelling from Darlo to come Grin Will try to rally few locals to come too for a laugh. Stripper, drag act and buff waiter so may need the vapours if I faint Wink

Curiousmama · 16/06/2011 20:03

I'm north of Newcastle (Northumberland) in a now infamous village which featured heavily in the news last year (not for the nicest of reasons) but it is a very beautiful place all the same.

Grin I'm in Darlington, work in Stockton.

Don't come for meet-ups (yet) as no DCs (yet).

spiggy · 17/06/2011 09:41

you don't need DCs to come to a meet- we have one regular who doesn't have kids and the rest of us regularly take advantage of nursery days to meet for cake withot our DCs wanting to share. There are some kids around but they are definitely not a pre-requisite!

shuckleberryfinn · 17/06/2011 15:33

glammapuss, im a northumbrian and Sugarrushed are you Rothbury by any chance?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/06/2011 15:37

I'm Sunderland and would love a meet up. Was scared of the Durham ones as you all seem to be proper friendsGrin
Our Sunderland page is crap.

LeggyBlondeNE · 17/06/2011 15:54

Gosh so many others in Durham city - thought I was alone and all mumnetters lived out of town!

KenDodds - I think (from my involvement in the last 12mo) it's a mixture of 'proper' friends and met-through-mn friendyness. But it's a very welcoming bunch and everyone does yak on on the thread. In a good way of course!
