Every thread I go on is filled with people sayign "I'm from the north east..."
Why are you not all meeting us for cake?

Sign in here to say hi to other NEers, and tell us are you:

  • North of Middlesbrough?
  • North of Durham?
  • North of Newcastle?

My answers are yes, no, no

FIFIBEBE · 16/06/2011 17:19

Originally from Middlesbrough, now live in London and have become so posh my family think I am ridiculous.

aimee0211 · 16/06/2011 17:22

Middlesbrough here, definitely not middle class :D

spiggy · 16/06/2011 17:24

ooh good idea SPB.

Yes, yes, no. Originally from Liverpool though so only honorary northeasterner.

Am close to Sunderland, Newcastle and S Shields. Muddling- I think you are fairly close to me.

We don't always meet up in Durham- we did plan a Newcastle one a while back but something cropped up and in never got reorganised but we can travel (especially when cake is involved) Am happy to meet up anywhere and give lifts to those who need them Smile I'm on Mat Leave at the moment so need excuses to get out of the house so the kids don't drive me insane

MuddlingMackem · 16/06/2011 17:25

Ack! Should have said over the summer, not half term! Where has this year gone!?

wubblybubbly · 16/06/2011 17:26

Yes, Yes, No.

Only just south of Newcastle though.

I keep thinking I will attend the meet ups but then forget all about it Blush

MuddlingMackem · 16/06/2011 17:26

Spiggy.

Yes, I think we may have crossed paths on another thread a while ago. I seem to remember a Boldon Colliery and a Cleadon in that one somewhere. :)

spiggy · 16/06/2011 17:28

I'm East Boldon Smile

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 16/06/2011 17:29

Aimee I'm in Middlesbrough too! (also not middle class haha)

Wonder if I've passed you on the street, seem to have been hanging around in Boldon for the number 9 bus quite a lot this week. Grin

Indith · 16/06/2011 18:08

BIll and Songbird and anyone else, yes there are meet-ups! Look for the Durham thread in the meet-ups bit. As Spiggy said we will travel though we do seem to end up in either Cafe Continental or Ebony depending on the time of day!

I live where SPB lives. Born in Hull though, not been around here all that long really.

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 16/06/2011 18:26

Thanks indith will keep an eye open

spiggy · 16/06/2011 19:00

which bus stop muddling? If it is by the war memorial then you are very close!

ElectricSoftParade · 16/06/2011 19:04

From Newcastle originally but have lived in East Sussex for the past twenty years.

I am known locally, by some very witty folk, as Geordie ESP. If I gave my real name it would sound better Smile.

tallwivglasses · 16/06/2011 19:24

Newcastle (although originally I'm a soft southern shite...) Heaton Festival in Heaton Park looks good this Saturday Smile

Greige · 16/06/2011 19:34

Northumberland, but have lived abroad for the last 11 years, in an area with loads of Geordies :o

MuddlingMackem · 16/06/2011 19:40

spiggy

The one opposite the butchers, and between St George's and Boldon UR churches. Heading south. :)

Curiousmama · 16/06/2011 19:49

I'm from Darlington but now live in Blackhall (near H'pool/Peterlee) There's a community cafe here if you ever want a meet up, cheap grub Grin Only open 12 til 1 though but there's a nice park for little uns. Mine are both at school all day now. Oh there's another cafe too and a nice fish and chip restaurant at the Rocks.

Dooinmecleanin my dog is only part whippet Envy and my string broke Wink I'd love a whippet or greyhound but ddog would go bonkers and dp wouldn't like it although he did fall for a young whippet we saw whilst in the Lakes.

spiggy · 16/06/2011 19:52

I'm a bit further down. Not much though! If you see a knackered looking woman shouting at juggling a 4 yr old, 2 yr old and newborn then wave Grin

so who is up for a great north east meet up over the summer? Come over to the Durham meet up thread and say hello- we will travel! (Can't link as feeding DS 2 so typing one handed....)

VFVF · 16/06/2011 19:52

Yes
Yes
Yes (only slightly!)

So nice to see lots of fellow Geordies (although I was born and raised here I still dont really have the accent!)

5inthebed · 16/06/2011 19:54

I think I am north of Durham, your question confuses me Wink

And I don;t met for cake as I am too fat and embarrassed to meet other people Blush

5inthebed · 16/06/2011 19:55

ack, don't meet

DooinMeCleanin · 16/06/2011 19:55

Curiousmama, my DH's friend and his wife live in Blackhall. You might know them.

I didn't realise there were so many North Easterners on MN.
