Every thread I go on is filled with people sayign "I'm from the north east..."
Why are you not all meeting us for cake?

Sign in here to say hi to other NEers, and tell us are you:

  • North of Middlesbrough?
  • North of Durham?
  • North of Newcastle?

My answers are yes, no, no

yes yes yes, the Durham meet-ups are too far for me :(

PandaNot · 16/06/2011 16:07

Yes No No Durham City for me, originally Middlesbrough so I haven't moved too far!

BillComptonstrousers · 16/06/2011 16:08

emptyshell · 16/06/2011 16:14

South of them all - from Sunderland originally though.

It's like invasion of the north easterners....

MummyDoIt · 16/06/2011 16:36

I was brought up on Teesside. Defected to the south more than 20 years ago. Still have a northern accent, though!

DamselInDisarray · 16/06/2011 16:39

Yes, yes, no for me.

Newcastle is most definitely the nearest big place to me. I've never been for cake as I'm too inept to find out where/when and too lazy to drive to Durham and I'm supposed to be working.

SongBirdsKeepSinging · 16/06/2011 16:42

Are the meet ups in Durham then?

Geordieminx · 16/06/2011 16:42

Alreet petals! Grin

foxy76 · 16/06/2011 16:49

Yes no no

CassiePalmer · 16/06/2011 16:49

Yes, yes, no for me, though was North of them all till I was 22. I still call Northumberland home though and got married in Bamburgh.
I'm used to where I live now but only since kids have started school, before then I kept myself to myself.

DamselInDisarray · 16/06/2011 16:50

No, I'm in Newcastle.

EvianBaby · 16/06/2011 16:51

Durham city here too! I didn't realise there were so many of us (especially around Durham too!)

hiddenhome · 16/06/2011 16:51

I live in North Durham Grin

I was born in Newcastle.

DamselInDisarray · 16/06/2011 16:52

I'd call 'home' north of it all though, by quite a bit. I find it hard to think of this as 'the north east'.

M0naLisa · 16/06/2011 16:58

no no no but i am from east yorkshire, nearer to north yorkshire though.

Taghain · 16/06/2011 17:02

I'm in exile from Stockton, now living 270 miles away.

PotteringAlong · 16/06/2011 17:04

Durham here too! Starting maternity leave in oct - would love to come for cake then if I'm allowed!

MuddlingMackem · 16/06/2011 17:08
  • North of Middlesbrough? YES
  • North of Durham? YES
  • North of Newcastle? NO

Closest big town - Sunderland

Anyone fancy a meet up in South Tyneside or Sunderland over half term? Ocean Park in South Shields is good. :)

lostinwales · 16/06/2011 17:13

I wonder if the people who always say MN is only for middle class mothers from London will be reading this.....
