Every thread I go on is filled with people sayign "I'm from the north east..."
Why are you not all meeting us for cake?

Sign in here to say hi to other NEers, and tell us are you:

  • North of Middlesbrough?
  • North of Durham?
  • North of Newcastle?

My answers are yes, no, no

Aworryingtrend I don't have DC yet either and I still go to the meet ups (I'm a nanny!) but I hardly ever bring my charges along!

spiggy · 17/06/2011 19:18

KenDodds (and anyone else), come to a meet! I only started going because I "met" one of the group on a post natal thread and she invited me along. It seemed rude to not go and I wanted to meet some other mums (only one of my friends with kids) Then I used it as an excuse for cake I realised that they were a fab group of people. We do a mix of "I need to get out of the house with the kids before I go mad" and grown up (I use the term loosely Grin) nights out with cocktails and a meal.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/06/2011 19:25

Thanks spiggy. I will look out for the next weekend one!

wonkylegs · 17/06/2011 19:26

Indith · 17/06/2011 19:34

Yes don't be scared of us! We all met through MN, a few of us have met in other places too (just because we happen to have similar age dcs or a shared interest) and see each other outside MN but all the MN meets are organised on here and anyone is welcome.

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 17/06/2011 19:38

No :(

No :(

And to q4, London for real, not as a 'butt out' answer :(
Hopefully not forever though. Nothing against London, but I miss the NE.

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 17/06/2011 19:39

Sugarrushed, you live reasonably close to my parents then.

Yes
Just, I think(Whitley Bay)

Lived down south for twenty years though so the accent only really comes out when I'm drunk, angry or tired.

MagdaMagyarMadam · 17/06/2011 22:38

Middlesbrough here too - south of the town on the N Yorks border.

duckyfuzz · 17/06/2011 22:38

MagdaMagyarMadam · 17/06/2011 22:49

StealthPolarBear · 17/06/2011 22:50

OP posts:
siblingrivalry · 17/06/2011 22:51

I'm in north Durham.
Always been too nervous to come to the meet ups though!

MagdaMagyarMadam · 17/06/2011 22:52

seems like a lot of Teesside people here - a meet-up in Yarm might be nice......???

StealthPolarBear · 17/06/2011 22:54

sr, we are not scary
well the others are, but I'm not
I'd be up for a meet up in Yarm - Stricky's? I suppose the Georgian House is gone?

OP posts:
MagdaMagyarMadam · 17/06/2011 22:59

Stricky's is nice. I don't think The House has closed but I've not been on the high street for ages. Too much work and no social life - well I do as long as it involves 3yo DTs.
