PersonalClown · 11/06/2011 21:03

squeakytoy · 11/06/2011 21:04

I am gutted to be missing Whitesnake, but I will be in Rome when they are doing London... they were my first real gig, I went on my own, aged 13, to Manchester Apollo on New Years Eve.... my parents didnt know I had gone and I never told them!!! (I was a bit of a wild child Grin )

ahh she hates me - loved it!!!

Ginger I think i know what you mean - if its the same I loved that too!

BoiledFrog · 11/06/2011 21:06

Ahh I was also thinking of staind, not puddle of mudd. Does any one like a perfect circle or deftones?

I saw the deftones at download and they were poor, one of the best sets I have ever seen was Marilyn Manson at Leeds 2001, properly fab.

BoiledFrog · 11/06/2011 21:06

X post Personalclown Grin

GingerWrath · 11/06/2011 21:06

Styx was my Dad's era. 'Plexiglass toilet' anyone?

TruthSweet · 11/06/2011 21:08

I can't believe no ones mentioned Korn! I love(d) Korn and Nirvana, Pearl Jam (DD1's favorite though she does like Smells Like Teen Spirit Grin), Ash, Metallica, Foos, Radiohead, Presidents of the United States of America and loads more.

I just to really like the mix tapes Kerrang gave away sometimes. They were great for introducing you to new bands. Do they still do that?

I do like puddle of mudd but does nobody else think they are pretty much a carbon copy of nevermind era nirvana?

GingerWrath · 11/06/2011 21:10

Got loads of the Kerrang tapes! I like Korn too, some of their stuff is sooo angry!

Last weeks Kerrang had a CD. I can't comment as DP has swiped for the car.

Was some Ozzy, Sevenfold, MCR, Blink 182, Metallica.... I can't remember the rest.

BoiledFrog · 11/06/2011 21:12

Oh yes korn, I think I only ever listened to their more popular stuff, freak on a leash and what not. I did like those free compilation albums, I also used to borrow a lot of albums from the library, thank fuck for the internet.

PersonalClown · 11/06/2011 21:14

The video for Korn's Twisted Transistor is hilarious!!

Snoop Dogg, Xzibit and Lil Jon as Jonathan!!

AmyStake · 11/06/2011 21:16

Oh, Jared. Can't believe he's 40 this year!

GingerWrath · 11/06/2011 21:16

I am currently forced to listen to Bowling For Soup 'Today is Gonna Be A Great Day'

PersonalClown · 11/06/2011 21:22

The man's just too pretty.

Don't all swoon at once! Wink

BoiledFrog · 11/06/2011 21:26

I like NIN a bit, not my favourite band, went to see them at brixton and it was really odd, the band were going all out but the audience were just morose, felt sorry for them.

Nin did once make me money, I randomly signed up to their posting list thingy, for some reason they sent me a limited edition record box Hmm. I sold it on ebay for £70 Grin.

What is the best gig you have been to?

TruthSweet · 11/06/2011 21:28

I like A.D.I.D.A.S. (All day I dream about sex, all day I dream about fucking) as a song of course and Need to from Korn. I kind of gave up metal at about 18 as my then bf wasn't keen on having a metaller for a gf though I still listened to it I didn't keep up with what was going on. My musical taste seems to be stuck in 1994!

Oh, did anyone like the band Therapy? with such classics as Femtex, Teethgrinder and Diane?

GingerWrath · 11/06/2011 21:29

Clown NO No NO! Too skinny! You need a bit of the older man, James Hetfield will suffice. (hubba hubba)

alittlebitcountry · 11/06/2011 21:32

I'm loving this thread - you are reminding me of music I'd almost forgotten I love Grin. Puddle of Mudd are great - she hates me is on my gym mix.

Henwelly I know how you feel - seen the Foos twice (as close as me and DH get to 'our song') wish we were going in July.

I like a pretty eclectic mix too - hence the name.

I started out more an Indie/Grunge kid (now that dates me) but the older I get the heavier I like it!

Please keep making recommendations its ages since I got into something new. Haven't bought a new album since Death Magnetic.
