Its showbiz, and Cowell is guilty of everything that's been levelled at him, but so is every other media mogul. The idea that someone like Cowell would 'take someone under his wing' is laughable, he sees ££$$$ signs, and at the first hint of it not working out he'll drop them. That is nothing new or unusual, its just headlines because of the high profile of the shows involved.
You can guaruntee that the whole subject of CC's accent is a red herring, and actually a way of lessening to public humiliation to CC, if they said the truth it would be far worse.
Do I feel for Cheryl? As a person yes, it must suck to feel so publically ridiculed and humiliated, and as a person, yup she's had a shitty year and it was a great oppportunity for her. As a person, yup, her conviction for thwacking the loo attendant is SO not a good look, but I wasn't there and don't know what went on, but I hope no one would judge me for bad behaviour that happened a long time ago (lost my temper when drunk and slapped a woman round the face because she snogged my fella innit - self cringe)
Do I feel sorry for her as a commodity? Nope. Its a bloody tough industry and actually, isn't always about talent, sometimes that's way down on the list of priorities.
It didn't work out. Shit happens. She'll bounce back because she likes the fame, and shallow or not, good for her.
