I know, I know, show business is brutal, I should get a life.

I just feel for her, it must be so horrible despite the truck loads of cash.

I can't believe anyone ever thought she'd translate to over there, she seems so untransportable.

She certainly doesn't need to lose weight and to endorse that is so wrong.
Shes thin enough in my opinion.

Honeybee79 · 30/05/2011 20:13

I'm also confused as to how she got a visa to work in the US with that criminal conviction.

No, I don't feel sorry for her. That's the business she's in and you take the rough with the smooth. She's made loads of money out of the smooth. Them's the breaks.

queenceleste · 30/05/2011 20:13

Don't quite see why her coming from a council estate keeps being mentioned. I don't think any of us chose where we were born. I certainly didn't have any say in it or take any credit for it!

Mollydollydoll · 30/05/2011 20:15

But did she go to court for smacking that toilet attendant

Mollydollydoll · 30/05/2011 20:16

Maybe the charges were dropped

queenceleste · 30/05/2011 20:17

horsewhisperer that is SO FUNNY that clip!
The sulky silence of the two sitting behind and the bitchiness!
whoah

She was convicted of assault.

cookcleanerchaufferetc · 30/05/2011 20:18

I don't feel sorry for her In The sightest. However, I do find it shocking and disgusting that she has been told to lose 2 stone.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/05/2011 20:21

Well from reading the ahem quality press Wink It seems Mr Cowell is pretty worried about x factor after US idol has done so much better without him on it.

Chezza was risky and I guess he didn't want to take the risk. And she has gained weight and that is an unforgiveable sin on US tv.

I do think she was incredibly stupid not to go back on the UK show though - I mean not sure how many records she'll sell without that platform.

manicbmc · 30/05/2011 20:23

She did it because she is so far up her own backside and thinks she could crack America.

queenceleste · 30/05/2011 20:28

I A B U
I feel less sorry now for her... !

Kwazi · 30/05/2011 20:37

I just watched the clip. It explains a lot! Massively arrogant.

GreenEyesandHam · 30/05/2011 20:46

I don't feel sorry for her, for the simple reason that I don't like her.

I just think she hasn't got a very nice personality. That's it really.

dementedma · 30/05/2011 20:55

YABU. she is an absolute airhead but she's pretty and she's rich so what's to feel sorry for? Can't stand her myself so no sympathy here!

CeliaDeBohun · 30/05/2011 21:09

I am sure Simon Cowell is into men. That would explain why his beards ex girlfriends are still all on the scene. Its not normal.

Obviously this doesn't mean that Syco doesn't like men but I can 100% confirm that he does sleep with women. Having said that, it was 11 years ago so maybe things have changed since then.

OP, I feel bad for Cheryl. It looks like a set up, and she appears to be the only person not to realise that she'd been invited to the US as a kind of sacrificial lamb for Cowell's new show. I think he always intended this outcome. It's brilliant publicity and he needs as much of that as he can get if he's launching a brand new show that's competing with the very popular American Idol. I'm not a Cheryl fan but I do feel sorry for her. She's been publically humiliated in the most evil way by someone she clearly considered to be a good friend.

You don't actually believe all this stuff? She is in the public eye and someone has a job to keep her there. S.Cowell may even manage her. All the celeb. nonesense is famous people or non-people being made famous via the media and PR is everything. Everyone p*sses in the same pot. It's all smoke and mirrors Don't worry about any of them, just enjoy your life.

Celia DeBohun Obviously this doesn't mean that Syco doesn't like men but I can 100% confirm that he does sleep with women. Having said that, it was 11 years ago so maybe things have changed since then

Lol, I know he likes women but I just kind of have the opinion of him that he wouldn't turn down men either!

Theinet

'She's just a council estate chav, packaged and manufactured on a talent show, without real skill.'

The analysis of her skills may be correct but the comments on her sociology economic background are totally uncalled for, rude and offensive to many people who post on this forum and come from similar circumstances.

Cheryl Cole could have easily ended up abusing solvents and frequenting courtrooms (like her brother), or unemployed and still on that estate with a multitude of children (like her sister).
Instead she chose to work hard at dancing school every night whilst her peers were hanging around outside the off licence.

Admittedly a huge amount of luck and chance put her where she is, but she wouldn't have achieved so much without hard work and ambition.
I don't think she's a bad role model tbh.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 30/05/2011 22:23

And iirc she was accepted as a Junior Associate if the Royal Ballet so had considerable skill and talent as a teenager.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 30/05/2011 22:23

of the Royal Ballet

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 30/05/2011 22:25

Aaagh

socio economic

manicbmc · 30/05/2011 22:25

She did her fair share of hanging around off licences and also flashing her parts at parties. Grin
