Glitter I am so jealous I wanted another vw touran!! btw if you use the 7 seats you won't fit 2 wheelchairs in the boot and if it's a mac major you won't fit that widthways.

Glitterknickaz · 31/05/2011 18:09

My washing/house situation is the same, deviant.
I've got a C4 grand picasso atm and I'd love to get another but they've hiked the advance payment so much I can't do it. As it is the £1100 is going to be a problem but I can't shoe horn my family into a smaller car.

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 18:09

oh wow very reasonable they have gone down a lot in advance payment id have got that if had been that price Sad why are they allowing us if dla probably wont exist for us within the next year allowing us to get a car... i expect they will say you find the money you can keep it but where will we get that kind of money from its stupid or will you be allowed to continue till the contract runs out i dont get how it will work if no dla

devientenigma · 31/05/2011 18:10

Apply to motability for the funding

Glitterknickaz · 31/05/2011 18:10

Oh, and deviant it's ok really, we use a max of 6 seats when we go for days out mum comes to help as the kids need 1:1, so we'd keep one down. One wheelchair across the back, one over the folded down seat, sorted!

Glitterknickaz · 31/05/2011 18:11

Well in our case, smile, the award is til 2015 which will cover another 3 year lease Smile
No idea how it works in other situations though Sad

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 18:12

you pay for the car then they take it off you and sell it it seems a bit unfair plus if you then did have money to buy a car you wont get full no claims bonus so the insurance will be astronomical

devientenigma · 31/05/2011 18:13

We have 2 cars to bundle our lot and stuff around, there's 8 of us with carer makes 9 Grin

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 18:14

my house is a shit tip Blush but like my mum used to say dust will still be there when your long gone lol (runs to put another load in washer)

Glitterknickaz · 31/05/2011 18:15

Every time I catch up with my laundry DS2 goes and soils the bed three nights running.

Sods law.

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 18:17

yes so the awards till X so dla is ok till then then assesed ? but i thought they were just re assesing everyone regardless of when its due IYKWIM ? so the date means nothing anymore or have i misunderstood

devientenigma · 31/05/2011 18:18

we were offered industrial size washers and dryers by ss. We have a few bed wetters and smearers. One nasty sw I had once came when I had put all the smelly washing by the door, porch is a make shift laundry room. Next time she came she remarked at least it smells better in here!!!

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 18:19

yep same here glitter i keep hoping ill get him out of it but all the usual tactics dont work he cant feel anything having said that without prompting he did a poo in the loo earlier and not in the usual one in the downstairs which he hates usually im very proud of him Grin

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 18:21

Smile @ devient i dont have a sw weird how some do some dont depends how they feel obviously Confused not that i WANT one lol dont get me wrong

Glitterknickaz · 31/05/2011 18:30

Not for adults, they'll be reassessed from 2013 regardless of award.
Kids staying as it is for now, don't know how long that'll be though.

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 18:33

see that will be exactly when we have to be reassesed if iremember rightly ds is once a year it seems prob given that cos they only want to give short awards atm

devientenigma · 31/05/2011 19:09

see smile that was a battle, have had DLA handed on a plate since day 1 but to get a sw even with ds fiiting the criteria from birth didn't start getting acknowleged in the service until he was 5, now 10 and 4 sw later we have a fantastic one.

devientenigma · 31/05/2011 19:10

smileANDwave2000 · 31/05/2011 19:59

(((hugs))) divient

boldbanana · 31/05/2011 21:05

Waiting for the Tories to come up with the slogan 'work sets you free', perhaps not in the original German though...

The posters highlighting the contradictions inherent in the supposed aims of reforming DLA are correct. Underclaimed, yet an easy target.

The Tories seem to despise 'the vulnerable', which is great Hmm. Say what you want about Labour, their policies helped children and families and disabled people massively. The Tories want to tear up the Equality Act which speaks for a lot, I think.
