ScousyFogarty · 29/05/2011 12:43

That is a wicked thing do do and David Cameron beeds to apologise or more likely get one of his flunkies to say SORRY

IF posters think governments dont idulge in puiblicity stunts against claimants and others they are NOT in the real political world....Calm Down Cameron courts the support of the Sun and the MAIL as though he had not had a shag for 3 years. He is copying Blair up to a point. But this cringe-making Tory government know all about publicity stunts....

ZXEightyMum · 03/06/2011 09:46

I think OP is saying that the Tories are making ideological cuts against "scroungers" and "frauds" in order to appeal to the DM types.

It's easier to label the most vulnerable as such rather than say, the fit and able young men I know who have several children they take no responsibility for and no problem remaining on JSA indefinitely.

They didn't even seem to understand the difference between ESA and DLA at first when talking about cutting DLA to get more people into work. Many people do work and receive it. My son is four so doesn't need to be encouraged to stop scrounging and get a job Hmm

TheFlyingOnion · 03/06/2011 09:47

scousy your particular brand of reactionary partisanal politics isn't just wrong, its boooorrrring.

Hiding you forever, you fool.

Shoesytwoesy · 03/06/2011 10:03

I agree with the OP , this is a publicity stunt, the government are picking on the weakest people, sadly a lot of people have fallen for it, not helped with the random stories about "fraud" weird that the people who tell these stories have no medical knowledge to back up their claims.

Glitterknickaz · 03/06/2011 10:12

I do believe that media supportive to the Tories have definitely spread stories about fraud on disability benefits. I don't believe the reports are reflective of the actual level of fraud going on.

It doesn't help when Dominic Littlewood goes on TV spouting about 'free cars' either.

wubblybubbly · 03/06/2011 10:28

Someone is quite clearly actively campaigning to present those on DLA as scroungers and cheats, in order to soften up public opinion towards the cuts.

Why else would 2 ridiculously extreme cases of fraud be given almost 20% of a 30 minute national news programme this week? Not local news, but the national news!

I suppose it's not like there's much going on in the rest of the world... [hmm}

Birdsgottafly · 03/06/2011 10:34

On the front page of my local newspaper was a story of disability benefit fraud, it was an extreme case and the culprits received a 16 month prison sentence, they had young children who had to go into foster care. Five pages in on a smaller section was a story of a man with previous convictions of having child porn, who was again caught watching films with children as young as 4 months old in them, he received a 15 month prison term. The two just don't compute in my head, tbh.

cory · 03/06/2011 10:37

It is difficult not to notice that there are suddenly far more stories about disability scroungers around. Just like there were a lot of stories about scrounging single mothers in the Major years. And about immoral gays in the Thatcher years. Of course it could be sheer coincidence. Or...I dunno...something in the water. Hmm

crazynanna · 03/06/2011 10:43

Glitter...I hate that bald headed twat!....

ScousyFogarty · 03/06/2011 11:32

The flyin ONION.... get involved in the debate. The abuse you dish out will rot your own grumbling intestines.

The rest....yes, of course the Tory PR people feed anti disability benefit fib stories to the media. (The are nastier than nasty.)

I fell out with 5-live ladies because they gave the Tory govt disability stories too easy a ride. Challenge BBC That is your remit with governemnts.,

OP posts:
Shoesytwoesy · 03/06/2011 12:00

it is a shame they couldn't spend more time airing the real story, but I suposse struggling disabled people living in poverty and loneliness, about lack of jobs and so on, just doesn't feed the anti's as well.

smileANDwave2000 · 03/06/2011 12:44

the government waste billions theywasted £71millon on building 66 motorcycle test centres for manoeuvres that could have been carried out on public roads im sure i can find many more i did post the other day a list of a few ridiculous very expensive projects and schemes that were pointless but hey lets attact the vinerable first as easy targets and no one likes a scrounger do they

smileANDwave2000 · 03/06/2011 12:45

Shoesytwoesy · 03/06/2011 13:07

and don't forget overseas aid.... billions on that.
yet no money left for vulnerable people here !!

Glitterknickaz · 03/06/2011 14:21

That's what I mean by other avenues to cut first.

ScousyFogarty · 03/06/2011 16:34

Give Cam some ruddy welly on disability meanness. Govt shame;and all that jazz/ IT MATTERS TO MILLIONS

OP posts:
ScousyFogarty · 04/06/2011 12:00

This is going close to a thousand posts. Rightly so, it is about disabled people and Camerons callous Tory attitudes towards them ....it needs much more exposure

OP posts:
ScousyFogarty · 04/06/2011 12:09

Camerons Tories are still briefing the Tabloids against the disabled (he frightens the whole lot with his repetitive interview THREATS

Anyway the wretched Tories hav no jobs to offer them

OP posts:
wubblybubbly · 04/06/2011 12:24

They were even talking about disabled fraud on Have I Got News For You last night.

It's a hot topic all of sudden, for sure.

ccpccp · 04/06/2011 13:37

This thread was dead last night ScousyFogarty. Tell me you didnt reawaken it just to hit 1000!

Cameron has more compassion than you.

Glitterknickaz · 04/06/2011 13:39

At least some people have the capability for compassion, unlike some posters.

ccpccp · 04/06/2011 14:41

Dont listen to Glitter, Scousy. Shes still in the dog house for saying Cameron couldnt know what its like to bring up a disabled child because hes a 'toff'.

Shoesytwoesy · 04/06/2011 15:24
