Some people even on here say that they still have strip washes.
What's wrong with a daily shower?

The thought of a strip wash gives me the boak, and all that messing around with face cloths and fanny cloths and wet floors.

Just get in the shower you minger.

mrsbunnthebaker · 23/05/2011 16:04

and dont smoke as they are the smelliest of all

taylor74 · 23/05/2011 16:06

so hugofirst you bet you smell so sweet then?

lesley33 · 23/05/2011 16:07

Depends. Some people do not realise they smell and friends/relatives really need to tell them. Some people smell at the end of the day in spite of showers, clean clothes and deoderant - especially teenage boys!

ShirleyKnot · 23/05/2011 16:08

I think the really stinky ones have bad noses.

worraliberty · 23/05/2011 16:08

ShirleyKnot · 23/05/2011 16:13

telling people to grow up on the internet isn't very nice either

bupcakesandcunting · 23/05/2011 16:14

Ma Cunting and I visited purveyors of fine homewares and fancy goods Home Bargains last week. Someone in there had B.O that hung in the air like an oniony fog. It made my eyes water. Filthy fucking sketter.

Jaspants · 23/05/2011 16:14

I'm amazed at the number of people who have admitted that they don't shower / bathe every day and they insist that they don't smell.

Or people who don't wash their hair regularly - greasy hair smells horrible

Ariesgirl · 23/05/2011 16:14

Perhaps some people are worried about their water bills so they have no choice other than to have a strip wash.

People's noses are too sensitive nowadays.

thaigreencurry · 23/05/2011 16:14

I have never really understood how people can't smell themselves, if I'm a bit sweaty I can smell it.

The breath thing is a bit tricky people don't always realise.

I think some people just don't have the same hygiene standards, I was raised just having a bath on a Sunday night. Now I can't get out of the house unless I have showered but not everyone feels a daily shower is necessary.

NettoSuperstar · 23/05/2011 16:15

It is minging not to shower daily unless there's a good reason not to.

BadPoet · 23/05/2011 16:15

Hmm I strip wash some mornings. Two reasons - if I am going to exercise later on then I will save my shower for after that. Saves time, and saves drying my skin out. Which is the second reason - it dries my skin out. I have to slather on prescription moisturiser and let it absorb and it's time consuming. I don't smell unpleasant.

bupcakesandcunting · 23/05/2011 16:16

Stratton, check your inbox.

No, not that one. THAT^ one.

Ariesgirl · 23/05/2011 16:16

The definition of minging according to NettoSuperstar.

I think it is minging to throw tampons in the toilet yet a lot of MNers seem to do it.

nickelbabe · 23/05/2011 16:17

there's nothing wrong with strip washes - I have one every day.

I don't smell (and I know DH would tell me if I do)

Some people don't know they smell, some people sweat too much.

some people really don't have any sense of hygiene at all.

I used to work with someone who stank like mad - he knew he was a particularly sweaty person (and had been told by the manager) and did insist that he showered etc.

then he'd come into work in the morning smelling of BO.

things like he'd cycle in, but not bring a flannel or a change of clothes with him, and so be smelly all day.
or even on a normal day, he'd smell by lunchtime, but again, wouldn't bring a change of clothes, even though he knew he smelled by lunchtime

we worked in a shop, too, and quite often, customers would physically reel and pull away from him when he served them.
