... to think that because I can't see a new IPOAT thread I should start one myself?

Especially as I want to wish CheerfulYank a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY for today. Hope you are having a lovely day.

And here is the patron saint of IPOAT playing Happy Birthday To CY!

Shower is fixed. I am now all frgant and dainty again. Whatve i missed?

Umami · 02/06/2011 17:21

Think I dropped my shining pearl in the ha ha.

fiderer · 02/06/2011 17:21

I was briefly on Hully's Love Baton thread under another name and in the spirit of European harmony, have invoked her name on this thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1227953-Im-feeling-smug-about-my-wholesome-breakfast

Have admired the IPOATs from afar - would welcome any contributions to my InThisTimeOf NeedThread.

Umami · 02/06/2011 17:28

Welcome Madame Fiderer. If you spot any pearls shining from the prawn fountain, do be sure to return them to Hully, for she is constantly casting hers before swine and loosing them.

Where is you InThisTimeOfNeedThread?

Hullygully · 02/06/2011 17:36

Dear Miss Fiderer, I confess myself bewildered by your breakfasting and Needs, pray elucidate and we shall scurry to your aid. With prawns and pearls aglow.

Umami · 02/06/2011 17:43

I must concur with Hully. The breakfasting thread seems to be somewhat of a love in, but pleased to flash my sausages nonetheless. Though perhaps we should educate them as to the true nature of a wholesome breakfast. I have seen no mention of cutlets, no Scotch woodcock, not a single jelly of any sort. It is very sadly lacking.

fiderer · 02/06/2011 17:50

Granted sadly lacking as regards cutlets and indeed jellys.
Mopping my brow at the mention of prawns and pearls.

In my defence I did propose savouried meats of an Italian flavour and flavoured wines which do endow the partaker with a mild frisson.

Would that suffice to gain entrance into the hallowed Halls of the IPOAT?

Umami · 02/06/2011 17:53

I would like a veal cutlet in sauternes jelly, perhaps with some curried sardines and eggs on toast on the side. And a little of the ox tongue and lamb's kidney pie to finish.

Umami · 02/06/2011 17:54

As for entry to the Hall, all you must bring are you love baton, your wit, a willingness to travel at short notice and a propensity to heave at the bosom and swoon.

minimammoth · 02/06/2011 17:56

Food mostly goes down well here. Prawns are favourite of the moment, oh and wallnuts, especially if they have been cracked 'tween Pag's thighs. We are all polishing our pearls at the moment.

fiderer · 02/06/2011 17:58

"Love in?" I must confess I did rather purloin the breakfast thread under a new name. Twas fun, and of late that was severely lacking, which put me in mind of Hully and the Lovebatons.
Hence my appeal to the IPOATS.

Hullygully · 02/06/2011 18:04

And what of the Needs?

And see the deadly Widow's (Umami) strictures above. We welcome all within the Halls, they need only those attributes outlined. Although I would perhaps add dogged persistence and gay abandon.

fiderer · 02/06/2011 18:05

love baton - oiled, glittered and ready to wield
willingness to travel - portmanteau oiled and packed
bosom heaving - try and stop me
swoon -

food - am jealous of Pag's thighs.

fiderer · 02/06/2011 18:11

Credentials: have been on MN since 02. Name changed a lot lately. Posted little. The Breakfast thread caught my eye and I liked the non-arsey tone. So I posted for the first time in ages and had a few replies and that's what I enjoyed about MN so I reciprocated and dragged (presumptuously) Hully into into it (sorry) because I thought it was a fun thing.

Umami · 02/06/2011 18:14

For the love of Nigel, woman, oil you bosom as well!

minimammoth · 02/06/2011 18:14

Help. Words are not looking right any more - walnuts. I need to know about the 'needs' too. And what is that rustling coming from the portmateau?

Umami · 02/06/2011 18:17

Hmm. Second I've you-ed instead or your-ed. What can it mean? What ails me? Is it the loss of my pearl?

Fitzy! You bounder! You'll pay for this!

Umami · 02/06/2011 18:18
Hullygully · 02/06/2011 18:18

would welcome any contributions to my InThisTimeOf NeedThread

Mistress Fiderer, why do you keep funishing us with unlooked for credentials - we need or demand them not. You are most welcome amongst our number. We are just a little curious as to what you meant by the line above.

Hullygully · 02/06/2011 18:19

Have we been too literal? Did you not mean there was actually a thread entitled thusly?

Umami · 02/06/2011 18:20

Ooh, ooh ooh! I must add a keenness for eurhythmy and good sea legs to the attributes. Also, a high tolerance for OestroGin, but with cava for breakfast I don't imagine that will cause you any problems, Madame Fiderer (please clarify marital status for purposes of thread; we must know!).

Umami · 02/06/2011 18:30

Ah, yes, too literal I suspect. The required support was for the spreading of love, no?

Honeydragon · 02/06/2011 18:35
fiderer · 02/06/2011 18:37

Was a fun thread - for me anyway. First in ages, I posted, didn't start it and rather selfishly over-posted in my enthusiam at having found a thread I like.

Aware that such have been lacking - apart from lurking on IPOAT
So inspired by Hully's selfless love baton endeavour, I tried to rope IPOAT in.

Foolish maybe
Well meant certainly

Thrust me down the hatch into the waters of gloom or not. I fear if I try to explain any more I may tie myself in so many knots I shall asphyxiate.

MsMaryWollstonecraft · 02/06/2011 18:37

I trust all these crustaceae flying about have been responsibly fourced

I have an edifying pamphlet on the cultivation of crustaceaeaea I bid you all read. It will take but half an hour of your time. See! It is but three fides long. I know that the print is a trifle small, so please employ your lorgnettes and other peering devices

ah, go on
