In case the conservatives sneak in and kick the buggery out of our country like they have done to England, im voting SNP so we can continue to have free higher education, free prescriptions and a 5 year council tax freeze.

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 04/05/2011 19:27

YANBU to ask everyone to vote but I'm not saying how I'll be voting Grin

bafanatheSober · 04/05/2011 19:28

Have already voted!

Groovee · 04/05/2011 19:30

I'll be voting. I'm also working on Friday at the referedum count for our area

TwoIfBySea · 04/05/2011 19:33

I doubt the Conservatives have a sniffing chance of getting anywhere near power in Scotland.

However our greatest danger is if Labour get back in.

Unfortunately they can count on a lot of votes from people who just vote them because they/their family/their dependency has always meant they vote Labour. It would be disastrous.

heymammy · 04/05/2011 19:35

I WILL be voting tomorrow but strangely haven't received a polling card Hmm

TrinityRhino · 04/05/2011 19:36

have nooo idea there is a vote anywhere at all
sorry

TheCrackFox · 04/05/2011 19:38

I will be voting tomorrow but still haven't made my mind up. Pretty underwhelmed by the whole lot of them TBH.

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/05/2011 19:38

The tories have no chance in Hell, and will never sneak in.
Polls say SNP will walk it.

PedigreeChump · 04/05/2011 19:41

I'll be voting, but there's a snowball's chance in hell that the SNP are getting it!

YANBU to encourage people to vote, I'm always a bit Hmm when people don't bother.

fluffles · 04/05/2011 19:43

yanbu but i will not be voting snp even though i am pleasantly surprised at how alec salmond has stepped up to the plate as first minister.

snp are distant 3rd or 4th in my constituency so would be a wasted vote. my first vote will be tactical.

green are getting my regional list vote.

pointydog · 04/05/2011 19:48

I don't want free prescriptions for all. Not a good idea.

I don't want a 5 year council tax freeze.

But yes, everyone should vote.

pointydog · 04/05/2011 19:49

There is very little to differentiate them. I just hear lots of uninspiring waffle.

handsomeharry · 04/05/2011 19:52

No danger the Tories will get even close in Scotland.

I haven't voted Labour since Tony Blair.

I've been voting SNP for a few years now and I quite like Alex Salmond too. I'm convinced he's had his eyebrows waxed.

TheCrackFox · 04/05/2011 19:58

I think he has had his eyebrows dyed. Something different about him facially anyway.

Does anyone else think that Iain Grey looks like that sex maniac out of the Family Guy?

ThistleDoNicely · 04/05/2011 20:16

I'll be voting SNP twice. They are the only party with anything positive to say about Scotland and Alex Salmond is a fantastic First Minister.
Yanbu to encourage people to vote at all.

Salmotrutta · 04/05/2011 20:26

Iain Grey's chin is like Desperate Dan's.

will vote as a point of principle but couldn't give a monkeys who is in or out. all as bad as each other TBH. And I don't understand AV so will abstain as have no clear opinion either way.

TheCrackFox · 04/05/2011 20:35

I really didn't mind paying for my prescriptions. Big waste of taxpayers money.

TBh I would prefer a small Council Tax rise every year as I really don't fancy a massive increase in 5yrs time.

ratspeaker · 04/05/2011 20:35

I always vote
Purely because my grandmothers were born without the right to vote

so it'll be 3 1 2 maybe
and X somewhere on the paper

pointydog · 04/05/2011 20:38

As stewie said. Many people are more than able to pay for medicine when they need it so why on earth are we throwing away all that nhs cash. I object to the state paying for something when people can afford it.

K999 · 04/05/2011 20:39

I always vote....and have voted for the same party since I was 18. Smile elections are really exciting.

pointydog · 04/05/2011 20:40

Council tax needs to be increased in times of heavy cuts. I don't see it as a cause for celebration that it stays the same while services are reduced.

pointydog · 04/05/2011 20:41

I'm all for AV. It's not hard to understand, I just think many people aren't too bothered about it. Which is fair enough. But it's not hard.
