In case the conservatives sneak in and kick the buggery out of our country like they have done to England, im voting SNP so we can continue to have free higher education, free prescriptions and a 5 year council tax freeze.

I'm looking forward to voting. Tories don't have a sniff of a chance in Scotland so have no fear.

Although it pains me a little to say, but SNP govt has been better, more forward thinkling than the Lab/Lib govt of before.

Be interesting to see how Liberals do...

Second vote got to be Green.

theinet · 04/05/2011 20:45

what is being cut so that even the rich can have free prescriptions for ever in Scotland? Or has Gordon Brown moved his magic money tree up there?

I want to vote for the SNP, purely in the hopes that Scotland will eventually get their much yearned for independence - and then we can all sit back and laugh while they sink.

I may be BU, but hey!! Grin

MollysChamber · 04/05/2011 20:58

Labour x 2 for me.

Don't agree with SNP's "headline grabbers" - NHS can't afford free scripts for all, Councils are on their knees and yet we continue with council tax freeze - and most importantly I have yet to see any evidence that Scotland would be better off as an independant country (though Call Me Dave may well change my mind on that....)

And no to AV. I think.

K999 · 04/05/2011 21:00

That may well happen if the latest polls are to be believed!!! Although I suspect that the majority of folk who vote SNP may say no to independence in a referendum.....

AberdeenAngusina · 04/05/2011 21:00

I said I'd never vote Labour again if we went into Iraq. ...and I still won't. Huge anti-war marches through London and Glasgow made no difference, Blair wasn't listening. So I won't be voting Labour.

Can't trust Lib Dems anymore.

Really impressed by Annabel Goldie, but not the rest of the Tories.

SNP are anti-Trident and in favour of renewable energy.

Looks like I'll be voting SNP!

pointydog · 04/05/2011 21:01

They've all got their headline grabbers. I shudder every time Gray drones on about creating thousands of jobs. Meaningless banalities all.

MollysChamber · 04/05/2011 21:01

Oh FGS why does any thread about Scotland get the xenophobic fuckwits slithering out from under their rocks??

mummysleepy · 04/05/2011 21:02

can you imagine Iain Gray as First Minister!!! Hmm I like Alex Salmond and think Nicola Sturgeon is great- she has done so much for the NHS most importantly passing law to stop private companies taking over GP surgeries, and halting the gradual privatisation of the NHS.

K999 · 04/05/2011 21:02

Not sure I agree with Labours headline grabber of "more jobs".....yeah like, from where?!

MollysChamber · 04/05/2011 21:03

I don't believe for a minute the SNPs claim that Scotland can produce 100% of its energy from renewables.

I'll go with Labours 80%.

TheCrackFox · 04/05/2011 21:04

There doesn't seem to be any real detail coming from any of them. I would love to know how Iain Grey is going to create thousands of jobs?

Goldie is alright but it is the rest of the fuckwits in her party that worry me.

"Oh FGS why does any thread about Scotland get the xenophobic fuckwits slithering out from under their rocks??"

If that was aimed at me, I (unfortunately) live in Scotland.

I don't see how that would make any differnce to the statement, hate.

pointydog · 04/05/2011 21:06

No one said you didn't live in scotchland

pointydog · 04/05/2011 21:07

I liked wendy alexander. I miss her.

Browncoats · 04/05/2011 21:07

I think I'll be voting SNP for the first time ever as I really like Alex Salmond as first minister, I think he's done a great job.

I'll also be voting Yes to AV as it's waaaaay better than shitty FPTP.

Mollyschamber just ignore the xenophobic fuckwits, it isn't worth wasting the energy in your fingers to give them any kind of attention (not even if we were all to flip them the bird).

TheCrackFox · 04/05/2011 21:08

The Labour party had to get rid of Wendy as she made the rest of the muppets look even worse.

MollysChamber · 04/05/2011 21:08

Aye it was aimed at you hate,

I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of the type of comment that you made. They appear all the time on mn. To me xenophobia is no different to racism. The fact that you live in Scotland makes it worse.

pointydog · 04/05/2011 21:09

Unfortunately, I don't think you're wrong, crax

UndiscoveredApprentice · 04/05/2011 21:12

I am entirely underwhelmed by the wo main parties and struggling to see a difference.

The main reason for me choosing is free uni education, and both labour and the SNP are promising me this.

Alex Salmond also promised me this in person, and, having met him, I was surprised by how trustworthy and engaging he was. So I may vote SNP.

WentworthMillerMad · 04/05/2011 21:13

I will vote - probably labour. We cant sustain free pescriptions etc. I love living in Glasgows west end!
