pack it in with the vicious sniping about beatrice and eugenie

they are 21/22, young girls, with the eyes of the world on them. I am horrified at the generally vicious comments about how they looked at the wedding. Leave them alone for goodness sake. Their mother is generally vilified and those girls have to live with that - not least at this wedding where she was notable by her lack of invitation, for whatever reason. How was your confidence when you were 21/22? Probably not that hot. HOw was your fashions sense at that age? Probably not that hot. Did you listen to any advice/advisors at that age? PROBABLY NOT.

fwiw I think they looked great - Eugenie's outfit was lovely and it suited her. Beatrice's coat didn't fit that well but the hat was fab and imo their outfits were a mature and respectful choice.

But I'm a fashion designer, so what would I know Biscuit

Morloth, now there's a challenge... :o

"I am fairly sure MayBankHoliday that the sort of person who wants to go for 'presentable and ordinary' and who does not want to be subjected to lots of discussion about their fashion choices does not strap a set of beige antlers to her head before going out to be filmed by the international media."

kungfupannda - I have heard from reliable sources that scottishmummy is extremely viscous. Her viscosity is the stuff of legend.

I always thought as much...

Got a link, Cat64?

Zara

overthesea · 30/04/2011 17:48

It was the god awful hats and bad panda eye makeup that really did for them not their plumpish figures. In fact Beatrice's suit was quite cool (on someone else).

FellatioNels0n · 30/04/2011 17:50

I actually thought Eugenie's dress was lovely. wasn't keen on Beatrice's at all - beautifully tailored and all that, but too frumpy and old for her and a horrid colour, very difficult to wear and suits no-one. And the hat was beyond silly. But Beatrice's I actually really liked.

diddl · 30/04/2011 17:50

Just looked through that link I posted & doesn´t the Queen have a fantastic smile?

And Princess Anne-great legs!

diddl · 30/04/2011 17:51

Maybe E&B should have swapped?

fit2drop · 30/04/2011 17:58

OP if this young lady with a not very pleasant to read about background can get it right I am at a loss as to why B and E who are similar age could not.
At th end of the day its about taste

B and E and you OP obviously do not have it

this young and disadvantaged lady has it by the bucket loads .

Personally I find her outfit beautiful and just right for the occassion, but even if its not liked by some , I dont think anyone can say its tasteless.

I thought old Queenie looked bloody fabulous. I loved that yellow.

diddl · 30/04/2011 18:04

Shozna looks great-obviously the designer got it right for her!

SilveryMoon · 30/04/2011 18:04

Sorry, but I just have to say that Beatrice and Eugenie looked IMO awful! Eugenie looked like a cross-dresser, the only difference is taht a cross-dresser would have looked better.
That may be bitchy and horrid, but they really did not look good (IMO)

SoupDragon · 30/04/2011 18:10

I want to see a picture of what they wore to the evening reception.
I can only find them in the car with Chelsey, none of them where the dresses are visible properly. They look like they could be fab.

Eugenie looks fab-what a fantastic figure-was that for the evening do or something else?

See a pic of Beatrice in a car on the way to the evening do-looks like a lovely dress.

Deuce · 30/04/2011 18:24

Do you recon Springydaffs was pissed when she started this thread and is cringing all day reading it?

diddl · 30/04/2011 18:25

Sophia Windsor´s outfit is spectacular.

And how stunning is she?

Laquitar · 30/04/2011 18:28

I think the point is that they don't look like having fun with it. They seem desperate to be liked and admired. I don't think it is the case of young women wanting to have fun with fashion or wanting to provoke. My Goddaughter does this. She will turn up at weddings wearing provocative clothes. But she enjoys this and she has a personality to match. These poor girls seem quite uncomfortable to me, their body language doesn't say 'fuck off i'm young and i want to rebel', it says 'i'm self concious and crave good attention'.

That's why i agree with those who said that it could be kind if someone have told them to choose something else.

Laquitar · 30/04/2011 18:30

Wow! She looks fab in that photo!!!

exoticfruits · 30/04/2011 18:31

Beatrice for the evening do looks miles better!

diddl · 30/04/2011 18:38

Have you got a link, exotic?

oohlaalaa · 30/04/2011 18:39

YANU. Didnt care for Bea and Eugenies outfits, but describing them as pantomine dames is unkind.

MollieO · 30/04/2011 18:45

Joss Stone is a similar age but managed to dress well and look her age. Beatrice's suit would have looked better on someone twice her age. Eugenie's dress was completely wrong for her figure.

marmaladetwatkins · 30/04/2011 19:02

Does anyone else agree with me that Miriam Durantez-Gonzales looked effing fabulous?
