Reading some of this feminist crap, I just wonder just what is the problem. Yes, i'm a woman. I like being a woman. I'm a SAHM. Yes, I dress dd in pink, she has a barbie. Ds, has an action man. Does this make me a bad person? seriously? Btw, not a troll.

Einstein, I totally agree with you.

I often get called a 1950's housewife for my views, and you know what, I am bloody happy being me.

:)

TaudrieTattoo · 14/04/2011 20:57

I think women should be men.

TaudrieTattoo · 14/04/2011 20:57

And men should be budgies.

southeastastra · 14/04/2011 20:57

each to their own, why are so picking on the feminists though if you don't care?

BelleDameSansMerci · 14/04/2011 20:58

I assume this is a wind up but, even so, fuck right off, there's a dear.

einstein1 · 14/04/2011 20:59

But men ARE men and women ARE women. I'm just sick of people telling me how each one should behave.

Psalmead · 14/04/2011 21:01

I guess I think children can play with whatever toys they like, and wear whatever colours look nice on them.

I am also a SAHM - is that bad? We can afford it and I would like to look after DD.

einstein1 · 14/04/2011 21:01

BelleDameSansMerci

Whats with the language? Not very lady like is it? Amazed that you think this is a wind up.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 14/04/2011 21:01

Has anyone said any of the above makes you a bad person?

I have a lot of those factors in common with you but I don't feel as you do.

LittleCheesyPineappleOne · 14/04/2011 21:01

Is your username ironic?

TheBolter · 14/04/2011 21:02

YABU.

I think people should just be who they are, regardless of their gender.

ImNotThere · 14/04/2011 21:02

What plantsitter said.

I like to add that I'm also sick of people telling me that how each one behaves is invariably down to gender.

TaudrieTattoo · 14/04/2011 21:02

Bad language not very ladylike?

Hahahahaha.

Bollocks.

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 14/04/2011 21:02

i love being a woman, and i think DH likes being a man.

but when someone treats you as a 2nd class citizen because of what you keep up your top or your lack of penis, you SHOULD see a problem.

now trot along and make your DH a cuppa eh?

"Reading some of this feminist crap".

Is there any of it you agree with, then?

HecateQueenOfTheNight · 14/04/2011 21:03

Men are men. women are women. Fair enough.

But when men are more important than women, have higher pay, higher status, more freedoms (very many more in certain countries!) and women are treated as servants, in some cases beaten, in many cases not financially independent, don't have equality in the workplace, suffer discrimination... that isn't right. Is that ok because it's men being men and women being women?

When being a woman means being treated as a lesser being than a man, then something needs to change.

That's got bog all to do with who's got a penis and who hasn't.

southeastastra · 14/04/2011 21:04

but why are you picking on the feminist part of the boards? what's the gripe?

TaudrieTattoo · 14/04/2011 21:04

Tea bitch Shock

Reset your boundaries, mate. Seriously.

Tea bitch...?

einstein1 · 14/04/2011 21:04

eakerTheMuppetMuppet

Fair enough. I can't really argue with that one, can I?

OP posts:
TaudrieTattoo · 14/04/2011 21:05

Letting you have sweeties makes that ok?

Bloody hell.

Boggling here. Anybody who called me tea bitch would be looking for his bollocks in the bottom of the biscuit barrel.

einstein1 · 14/04/2011 21:07

Flowerpotmummy

Nope, doesn't make you a traitor, just makes you someone who's having the last laugh in my opinion.

SomethingSuper · 14/04/2011 21:07

Can't be arsed so have c&p:

People who are negatively impacted by cultural forces such as patriachy are often most invested in it as they have internalised it's negative message. Women in countries where Female Genital Mutilation is/was common are often vocal in defending it. This is not because they enjoy being horrifically mutiliated and are thrilled to go on to mutiliate their daughters, but because they have internalised misogyny. There's the same low-level thing going on with all the 'hairy leg/men-hating/rape-shouters' blah blah blah thing that some women do about feminists.

Nobody really cares that you wear pink Confused

Shakirasma · 14/04/2011 21:08

YANBU all people regardless of gender, should treat each other with mutual respect. But that doesn't mean we cannot embrace each others differences.and men and women are different in many ways not just the physical.

My husband is a lovely strong man, both physically and in personality. He treats me like a lady and I love it. It makes me feel safe and happy.
