Reading some of this feminist crap, I just wonder just what is the problem. Yes, i'm a woman. I like being a woman. I'm a SAHM. Yes, I dress dd in pink, she has a barbie. Ds, has an action man. Does this make me a bad person? seriously? Btw, not a troll.

I have 3 children. They like pink. They enjoy baking. They have a nurse's dress as well as a knight's tabard in their dressing-up box. They do not like girls, they like boys. They have penises. Are they going to grow up to be men, or women?

Should I care?

Einstein: Your behaviour in wearing pink and baking cakes is your affair. Your behaviour in trying to force other people to do, or refrain from doing, certain things in order that they fit your perceptions of their gender identity merits criticism.

My wisdom? Am I wise?

Can I please have a list of womanly behaviour? If I don a pinny and make you a cake will you oblige?

Just so I know where I am going wrong and can see the error of my ways

TransatlanticCityGirl · 14/04/2011 23:14

People should be allowed to be their true selves, not compartamentalised into some kind of box just because of their sex.

It makes me sick everytime someone tells me how I ought to feel / behave / act because I am a woman. I am me, like it or not.

I am not emotional. I don't get PMT. I love pink. I bake. I adore my career. I've not touched our hoover once in the last 8 years - the husband (a banker of all people!) does all the housework, cooking, washing up etc. I always wear dresses. I love shoes. I remember everyone's birthday. I do the household taxes and manage the finances. I don't like babies. I knit. I love rom-coms. I play golf. I like shopping. I hate weddings. I can't multi task. I adore my family.

I don't let my sex define me. I define myself.

thank you very much.

cornsilkily · 14/04/2011 23:17

Einstein's idea of a woman being a woman was described in her Op as:
A) being a woman Confused
B) liking being a woman Hmm
C) SAHM Biscuit

einstein1 · 14/04/2011 23:18

TransatlanticCityGirl

Gulp. Who can argue with that. In other words, i'm guessing you are your 'own' person.

OP posts:
einstein1 · 14/04/2011 23:19

cornsilkily

Do you not like being a woman, then?

OP posts:
Valpollicella · 14/04/2011 23:20

a) Being a woman
Check (last time I looked, anyway)

b) liking being a woman
Check

c) SAHM
Oh no! Big FAIL

Or does two out of three cancel out the other one? Einstein, sorry I can't fathom that out.

Could you let me know please?

MillyR · 14/04/2011 23:21

Action man is a doll, so the OP is kind of flexible with her gendered behaviour.
