Reading some of this feminist crap, I just wonder just what is the problem. Yes, i'm a woman. I like being a woman. I'm a SAHM. Yes, I dress dd in pink, she has a barbie. Ds, has an action man. Does this make me a bad person? seriously? Btw, not a troll.

I don't understand what happened tonight. Someone hold me

DontGoCurly · 14/04/2011 21:25

I hate everyone equally.

Girly girls who wear pink, can't reverse park, watch SATC disgust me!

Feminists with their blind spots and double standards bug the shite out of me too.

I hate you all !

ILoveYouToo

Thankyou. I really wish I could have expressed myself the same.

Oh, and OP, I think you are being deliberately inflammatory and rude by referring to 'feminist crap'; it makes you seem ignorant and stupid.
Wear what you like, be as 'feminine' as you like, but why the need to defend yourself - who's attacking you? Hmm

Yes it is a terrible Shane Grin

SomethingSuper · 14/04/2011 21:27

I like it Flowerpot, made me laugh!

SherbetDibDab · 14/04/2011 21:29

I'm female.

I like clothes, fashion, musicals. I also like drinking bitter, maths and playing with spreadsheets. I hate cooking and get irrationally cross with people who have no sense of direction.

Please can you advise if I'm being a 'woman'?

I could be wrong but feminism is about women having the choice to do as they what without pressure or force.

If it is truly you're choice to be a SAHM that is not against feminism. you don't have to look a certain way to believe in the rights of women.

OP, you have proved to me, once and for all, and without a doubt, that ignorance is bliss.

HTH

at least you don't discriminate Grin, I wear pink, I can't park and I hate SATC
am I on your hate list? haa

MigratingCoconuts · 14/04/2011 21:32

somethingsuper, can you hold my hand...I'm confused as to where all the nice, friendly and well balance posts have gone.....

RatherBeACyborg · 14/04/2011 21:33

I don't really get what you mean by saying 'a woman should be a woman'? I'm a woman...I've had 2 children to prove it. Wink But not wanting to be raped/abused/paid less/treated as a 2nd class citizen etc etc has got fuck all to do with whether I wear pink (I don't), bake cakes, (I do), make packed lunches (I don't) or have doors held for me (manners cost nothing no matter what your gender).

OP, a rather pointless statement in all I think.

These threads are enlightening about some posters. Puts their comments on other threads into perspective.

socka · 14/04/2011 21:34

Sherbet - I am equally confused, I love nail varnish, kittens and gossip. But also assembling flat pack furniture, driving and making money. What am I?!

StealthyKissBeartrayal · 14/04/2011 21:35

do you not also think feminists should be feminists?
BTW thanks for calling me dull - I thought you were a troll then and this thread is doing nothing to change my view :o

LDNmummy · 14/04/2011 21:35

Me and my DP are equals and I do not buy into gender stereotyping so think on most levels you are being unreasonable OP. On the other hand, I do acknowledge that there are biological differences between the sexes and I cannot do everything a man does but neither can he do everything I do. Each to their own.

squeakytoy · 14/04/2011 21:35

"Ahh the good old days, when Dad would piss his wages up the wall then come home and give mum a good hiding, yes I'm sure everyone hankers back to those glory days."

I am sure there were some, but there are just as many of those nowadays.... I dont see how feminism has changed that.

SomethingSuper · 14/04/2011 21:37

OP and Flowerpot, what I meant in my first post (feeding DD and distracted) is that I think that men have successfully managed to perpetuate the stereotype that feminists (women who just expect to be treated equally and with respect) are ugly, aggressive, bitter and 'unfeminine'. Therefore, some women are at pains to distance themselves from that in case they are seen as ugly, aggressive, etc. Does that make sense?

Goblinchild · 14/04/2011 21:37

"`In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were REAL men, women were REAL women, and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were REAL small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.'"

The Book getting all nostalgic.

I knew I'd heard that quote before, HHGTTG

Errmmm, Action men were discontinued years ago.

I think that is all I want to add to this troll fest discussion.
