Three times this week DS has come home with dog shit on his shoes. I've had enough of steam-cleaning my floors and I've had enough of having to scrape dog turd off shoes. I am VERY weak-stomached and it makes me heave.

I just happened to be at my dining room window when I saw a lady with a great big bear of a dog, who looked like he was stooping for a crap. He stood up and they started to walk off and lo and behold, big steaming pile of shit on footpath. The red mist descended so I opened my front door. "Excuse me, about the dog muck you've just left outside my house. I take it you won't be picking it up?" I call out. "I've forgotten my bag, sorry" she says and starts to walk off. "Wait, I'll get one for you!" I reply and off I go into the house and fetch her a carrier bag from under my sink. TBF she did pick up the shit but she was NOT happy about it. I smiled nicely and thanked her.

WIBU? I'm just SICK of dodging dog shit every day :(

YANBU. I've done this as well, politely offered a plastic bag for dog owners who have 'forgotten' to bring one along.

knittedbreast · 07/04/2011 16:52

if she had refused you could have got it with a shovel, followed her home and dumped it in her front garden.

I agree with you its disgusting and i hate it

scurryfunge · 07/04/2011 16:53

Good for you. It drives me mad too.

nickschick · 07/04/2011 16:53

Ohhhh Grin I live opposite a park and the amount of people who stand there and watch there dog poop and do nothing drives me Angry so much so I often when our own dog is out pick up as much poop as I can .....I do often dish out bags and say 'its a nuisance wgen you forget a bag so here ya go' people are so bloody lazy.

OliPolly · 07/04/2011 16:53

YWNBU and well done ! Grin

Tryharder · 07/04/2011 16:53

YANBU. Good for you. Smile

marmaladetwatkins · 07/04/2011 16:53

My mother did something similar, knittedbreast. She scooped up a dog shit and followed the owner home and posted it through her letterbox. It was in a sandwich bag Blush

Hooray! I hate lazy dog owners. Good work marmaladewatkins!

Hopefully she'll choose a different route in future!

wobblyweeble82 · 07/04/2011 16:55

YANBU! That's fab Grin

(Coming from a dog owner who never forgets :))

ShatnersBassoon · 07/04/2011 16:56

Good for you. You were absolutely not being unreasonable. Dog shit is an irritant for most people.

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 07/04/2011 16:56

gold star to you marmalade

considering it's now an offence to let your dog crap on a public pathway lots of people still leave it everywhere Angry

dirty feckers....

marmaladetwatkins · 07/04/2011 16:57

DS and I have to use an alleyway to get to school. I counted six dog shits down there today. SIX. DS has started calling it Cack Alley :(

supadupapupascupa · 07/04/2011 16:58

my ex dp once regularly dumped poo in the owners garden after trampling it through the house once too many times. ALWAYS stopped outside our house!!!!

YANBU

scurryfunge · 07/04/2011 16:58

I used to play counting games on the way back from school too.

Not dog shit though Grin

nickschick · 07/04/2011 16:58

We call the park pooh place.

harassedinherpants · 07/04/2011 16:59

YANBU!

I hate it when people can't be bothered - yuck.

When our dog was alive I always had a supply in my pockets and dished them out to people who couldn't be arsed had forgotten theirs.

marmaladetwatkins · 07/04/2011 17:00

The worst thing about Cack Alley is that there are two red dog shit bins, one either end. Am considering printing and laminating two big signs saying "DOG SHIT LIVES HERE NOT ON FLOOR" and sticking them to the bins.

I once threw it back on the neighbours doorstep after slipping in it and falling over !
The neighbour was just walking up the road and saw me do it but didn't say anything.
I was ready for him if he did.
Lazy twunt

nickschick · 07/04/2011 17:03

My neighbours pick their dog poop up and then hang it on their fence in its little nappy sack Shock

BeautifulBlondePineapple · 07/04/2011 17:03

Good for you! I've done the same in our local park.

Me: "are you going to pick up your dog's poo?"
Dog owner: "the dog has already done one poo and I only brought 1 bag"
Me (offering nappy bag): "well here's another one then"

The dog owner wasn't v happy, but did pick it up. I walked away and looked round to see the dog doing another poo! I made sure the owner saw me watching and he attempted to re-use the bag to pick up poo#3. He got shit on his hands. Oh how I sniggered!

Bet he carries multiple bags with him now.

ohnoudidnt · 07/04/2011 17:03

Yuk. I hate cleaning dog poo off my dd shoes. Some parents at school think it is acceptable to bring the mutts to pick the children up,(not on school grounds, but on the grass & pathways outside gates)and then piles of dog shit is left behind for the kids to stand in!
I really hate dog owners that do not clean up after their dogs...its bad enough that the horrible things jump all over you, but to have to clean their shit off shoes is just too much!!!!

delillah247 · 07/04/2011 17:05

Well done you. I hate dog poo, and I have a dog. I knew of a persistant plop and run culprit, so I picked up her dogs poo for her, and left it on her doorstep, with a note saying, 'Found this outside the school, thought you might like it back'. Extreme, yes, but it seems to have worked.

marmaladetwatkins · 07/04/2011 17:09

I am going to start going round in a meat truck, catching and torturing all of the dog shit droppers.

Dog shit sdropper: "oh no there's the meat truck, shit we're gonna get tortured let's pick up the shit!"

Joke.

hedgefundwidow · 07/04/2011 17:10

absolutely crying laughing - well done you!
i would LOVE to have seen that - especially if it made her heave. hahahahaha

cheekyprincess · 07/04/2011 17:11

Two dogs here, forgot once, went to the nearest house and asked for a bag.

I'm also one of many who takes extra to hand out to the vile creatures amongst us for which dog mess isn't an issue. I have filmed repeat offenders too, threatening to go to the police with their address and video evidence. The fine they'd get if I followed through tends to make them behave in future.

I won't put my ds's health at risk for some lazy twunts.
