I just offered a woman a plastic bag to pick up her dog shite

Three times this week DS has come home with dog shit on his shoes. I've had enough of steam-cleaning my floors and I've had enough of having to scrape dog turd off shoes. I am VERY weak-stomached and it makes me heave.

I just happened to be at my dining room window when I saw a lady with a great big bear of a dog, who looked like he was stooping for a crap. He stood up and they started to walk off and lo and behold, big steaming pile of shit on footpath. The red mist descended so I opened my front door. "Excuse me, about the dog muck you've just left outside my house. I take it you won't be picking it up?" I call out. "I've forgotten my bag, sorry" she says and starts to walk off. "Wait, I'll get one for you!" I reply and off I go into the house and fetch her a carrier bag from under my sink. TBF she did pick up the shit but she was NOT happy about it. I smiled nicely and thanked her.

It drives me insane too. The road up to school is so covered in it that the school office have put posters up everywhere about there being no such thing as the dog poo fairy.

I might carry a supply....and go out reeeeaaalllly early to catch them at it the bastards. They're always doing it here too!

There's quite a lot of dogshit round where I live. I have heard people blaming it on the foxes. True enough, there are foxes round here, but NOT THAT MANY!!!

Its bloody annoying when you follow your dog onto the verge where he's performed to pick it up and tread in some other dogs doings. You'd have thought after the first time I'd have realised dogs rather like places other dogs have been ....

YANBU at all! Those who do that are dirty buggers imo, time and time again my dd has been playing in the park and has stepped in dog poo.

Oh my dad did that years ago, a neighbours dog renowned for crapping in our garden, dad got a shovel and put it outside their doorstep , good old dad RIP

OP - the woman you saw clearly wasn't going to pick it up. Report her to the dog warden. Her dog will be shitting somewhere else tomorrow, without you there to offer her a bag.

Well done its horrid . There is a dog at the end of our road that is just allowed to roam and it poos everywhere . Its a boxer dog so these are massive poops and the woman never picks up. Disgusting . People have challenged her and gotten a lot of verbal abuse for their trouble.

Next move is to take pictures of the dog shit people, hire a screen the size of the ones in Piccadilly Circus, set it up in the local High Street then play the photos in a slideshow with the words "I love dog shit" imposed over it.

There's a poo bin in our local park that doesn't get emptied as often as it could and some local dog walkers have started hanging their full bags on the tree beside it.

It's almost worse than than them not picking it up all. I say almost of course, because I only have to look at the smooshed up shit in a nappy sack and not pick it off the sole of my shoe. Small mercies

Good for you OP! I've been known to go running after lazyarse dog owners as well. There is a serial offender on our street - they just let their dog out to crap all over the place. I took a photo of it once, crapping on a neighbour's garden, as proof that my dogs were not responsible. Petty I know. I've picked up after this dog quite a few times, so I think a few bags of poo on their doorstep might just do the trick. :o

As a dog owner it never astounds me how also how many people only carry one bag. Yes the chances are is that your dog will only go once but what happened to making contingency plans? Once you've used your bag are you not nervous that doggie may decide it needs to go again - I know I would be. I have to say I quite like the idea of You Tube also for those who don't pick up.

I've got to say the only time I've ever noticed the smell of pee in the outdoors it's been almost certainly human. Usually accompanied by empty Buckfast bottles strewn around. Perhaps it's a side effect.

I got a woman's car number in our park once when she'd walked off and left her dog shite.

Phoned the council who said they would send someone round to her house.

DP has given people bags when they let their dog shit on our front grass and walked off and left it.

I'd be so embarrassed if i didn't have enough bags to clear up after my dog and someone told me off.

Once, when I'd taken the dog to the vet, she did three huge poos in quick succession on the way back to the car, and I didn't have any poo bags with me, because I hadn't thought ahead and realised she might poo, even though she was only going a few paces from car to vet. I had some newspaper in the car, and wiped it all up with that, and put up with the smell until I got home, rather than leave three piles of steaming poo outside someone's house!

Dog owners that do this get responsible dog owners a bad name, and I would happily follow them home and smear their dog's shit all over their front doors - or maybe under the door handles of their car....

Someone should start a "people of walmart" type blog - "The Dog Shit Hall of Fame". People could submit photos of dogs and their owners not picking up crap, with the street name/town.
