Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Ah Cheerful, I'm still DIY'ing lots too. It'll be worth it love x

CheerfulYank · 14/07/2011 19:06

Sort of Elmo. :o I can only do things when I have a deadline so I invited everyone over for a huge party for DS's birthday this Saturday. So....we're sort of doing the whole house all at once, yes. And I've got to work the Harry Potter Midnight Show at work tonight. I'm so excited to see it, but I'll be there til 3 am or so. Sigh...

It WILL be worth it, won't it Tea ? I will start that as my mantra immediately. :)

elmofan · 14/07/2011 19:15

Brew lots of this to keep you awake Grin

Jeez you really like to put yourself under pressure don't ya Wink , I bet it looks fab though .

gomummygo · 14/07/2011 20:26

Hang in there Cheerful, you'll feel SO great when you see the end result! DIY makes you feel so proud of what you've accomplished! :) I mean, how great will it feel to look around your gorgeous place and when people compliment you on it you'll be able to say "I did that!" Grin

Everything ok Elmo? Big decisions?

Tiredmum, the girl's mum sounds a bit ridiculous! How frustrating for you to have her respond like that. Hope the meeting this morning was more productive than speaking to her!

Tea you're still DIYing too? What is your project atm?

Teaandcakeplease · 14/07/2011 20:29

I seem to be going from room to room now and touching things up/ repairing etc. Currently rte-doing skirting boards in hall and doors etc. Make the place look nicer when you arrive.

OP posts:
Teaandcakeplease · 14/07/2011 20:30

Argh typos Blush

And not "you" you GoMummy I wish Just people who come to see me Grin

OP posts:
gomummygo · 14/07/2011 22:57

Aww Tea, I thought for a minute you were sending the pilot with a private plane to get me! Grin

Doing the skirting boards does make such a difference doesn't it! Makes things look crisp, imo.

CheerfulYank · 15/07/2011 08:51

Just got done watching the last Harry Potter movie.

gomummygo · 15/07/2011 13:17

Was it good? Why Cheerful?

[totally out of the loop emoticon]

CheerfulYank · 15/07/2011 18:44

It was good! I'm just sad it's the end! I started reading the first book 12 years ago and I was always so excited when a new book or movie would come out. And now it's all over! :( :(

It was a satisfying ending though. :)

gomummygo · 15/07/2011 21:37

Blush I know nothing, does that mean they are not making any more Harry Potter movies? (See, I really am out of the loop! GrinBlush)

What is everyone planning for the weekend?

Tiredmumno1 · 15/07/2011 23:03

Hi all,

The meeting went ok ta, dh told the head that he had introduced himself to the girls mum and had a chat, she said i know the mum phoned me in tears after, Shock she was perfectly fine when we left her, but the head believed dh that nothing horrid was said, she was just trying it on, it makes me sooo angry, i wanna go and say to her, how the hell do you think my ds feels after 3 years of bullying and torment, anyhow at least she knows we are not like that, she actually said to the mum if there is anymore probs she will be out the school, as she has hit a few others, which is a relief, and they have kept her away from ds Smile which makes him happy.

Right anyone want a Wine this one i have is bloody strong Grin cheers buddies x

gomummygo · 15/07/2011 23:11

Ooohhhh Angry Grrr, Tiredmum I cannot stand people like that. How manipulative of the mum to have phoned the head like that after your DH talked to her!

Anyway sounds like things are looking up, glad it went well.

Been a crazy busy (and wickedly hot!) day here, so I'll happily share a Wine with you! Cheers!

Supposed to be record highs all weekend and into next week, blech I hate the sweltering weather, so humid you just don't feel like doing anything.

Tiredmumno1 · 15/07/2011 23:27

I hate the heat aswell so i am glad the weather has been quite level here, not to hot not to cold, although i'd prefer to be over there with you gomummy

I am actually glad its the weekend its been a hectic week, ds2 is going to get his haircut tomorrow, other than doing a bit of shopping, and have to watch liverpool play in the morning, we will be spending time with the kids, i may go and get some new art and crafts stuff for them, they say they want to make a dinosaur Smile

Tiredmumno1 · 15/07/2011 23:31

And i have only been using one crutch this week, i have been trying so hard to get my ankle back to normal, its not to far off, still a bit painful, but proud of myself cos i really have been trying Smile

CheerfulYank · 16/07/2011 00:18

Good for you, Tiredmum ! Also cannot believe the mum of that girl. I'd be in tears too but only because I'd be so mortified that my child was a bully! Angry

No gomummy, no more HP books. Or movies. [hsad]

I'm just taking a break to run to the store and get the last few things for DS's parties tomorrow. Yay! :)

gomummygo · 16/07/2011 02:22

I think I'd prefer your weather to ours Tiredmum. We go from -40 to +40 in a span of a few months, it is rather insane really! I often wonder what the cattle (and other creatures who live outside) make of it. Do they see the first snow of the year and say to themselves "Oh crap, here it comes again..."? Perhaps I shall not have another glass of Wine after all. Grin

Dinosaur sounds fun! Will there be paper mache involved? (Sorry don't know how to make my 'e' accent on this mini keyboard!)

Cheerful you must tell us about party time! Is there a theme?

Well I am about to flop down in exhaustion (DS still doing the early-rising thing) so I shall polish up this bench and say goodnight. :)

CheerfulYank · 16/07/2011 07:33

Our weather is the same, gomummy. Sometimes we get those extremes in the same month! :o

Don't feel nosy, I love talking parties/themes! The morning party is Spider-Man. DS is obsessed although he's never seen any of the movies. Hmm Doing goody bags was easy, though, because I just bought generic stuff (sparkly pencils, bubbles, bouncy balls) in red and blue because they're "spidey's colors" instead of spending twice as much on stuff that actually had Spider-Man on it. :o I also threw in some Spidey tattoos. We're going to the Bounce Depot (with inflatable castles and stuff, is that what you call Soft Play?) and I think about ten kids will be joining us. The DCs get to bounce for an hour and then we'll have lunch. The staff orders in pizza and is handling all the Spider-Man decorations, cake, and clean-up which is the best part! :)

In the evening we're having the family over for dinner. We're just going to grill and are doing hamburgers, hot dogs, and shrimp kebabs. And I'm trying a new recipe for spinach/artichoke dip, so wish me luck! :) And a couple of salads, and fruit and veggie trays, and cake and ice cream.

Whew! I'm still cleaning the house too...sawdust everywhere!

What have you all got planned for the weekend? I wish you could come to DS's parties! :)

Teaandcakeplease · 16/07/2011 08:15

The party sounds amazing Cheerful!

GoMummy such extremes in the weather there. Yuck! I hate hot weather too.

Tiredmum, cannot believe the other mum. Glad the head seems to now be being proactive though. That's good news. Are you having physio as well? Seems like it's taking forever to get better. Poor thing.

OP posts:
gomummygo · 16/07/2011 15:01

Tea do you really get as much rain as I've read about?

I am hungry now Cheerful, I love artichoke/spinach dip. Is it the one with the cream cheese and little bits of red onion/red pepper/watercress?

Parties sound great! Great idea on the red/blue for loot bags. Loving the place that does the cleanup for you! Don't have one of those bouncy places but they sound fab!

Off outside for a bit to pick berries for jam before it gets too hot. Have a great Saturday all! :)

Teaandcakeplease · 16/07/2011 15:13

Errrr well in the South where I am near London it's ok rain wise usually. But this year it seems like it's rained constantly. Scotland and Wales are more prone to rain or near coasts. Not that I did well in Geography in school Wink Blush

OP posts:
gomummygo · 16/07/2011 15:36

Grin Tea.

Teaandcakeplease · 16/07/2011 16:11

Wish you could mail me some jam. I love homemade jam Envy

Having a hilarious day here, with jumping in puddles in all in one suits, hot chocs, decorating cup cakes and now an old tent set up in the kids bedroom but man are they squabbling today Sad When will they learn to play nicely? They're like lion cubs, honestly! Push, shove, roll, kick, laugh, bite, say sorry, giggle etc on and on.
