Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Read your thread Elmo, can't believe the receptionist keeps trying to give advice. Be assertive next time and keep repeating you want the vet to call you over and over with her. Wow your springer is a handful.

How's your dad?

CheerfulYank · 19/06/2011 16:59

Hi everyone! How are you all? I feel like it's been ages...everyone must be busy! :)

How's your pup, Elmo ? Did you ever get in touch with anyone who could help?

Tiredmum are you still laid up? :(

Gomummy I decided today that I'm determined to have a real, live, productive veg garden next year. There will be many frantic emails from me to you, I'm sure. :)

Valium are you there? :)

Heading to bed now...DH has agreed to watch this with me as we're falling asleep...mwahhahahahha! :o

elmofan · 23/06/2011 09:19

Good morning all Smile

DD has a D&V bug - poor thing has been sick a few times during the night , so I've been up changing beds etc (not much fun) .
Pup has been behaving himself the last few days thanks . We got back in touch with the behaviourist and she has recommended a new vet , so we took Oscar along yesterday to meet her Smile . She's lovely and did a few health checks on him and said he is a very healthy pup . We have booked him in to be Neutered next Monday , I'm a bit worried something will go wrong tbh but It's being done in a veterinary Hospital so hopefully he will be in good hands .
Vet told us pup is going through puberty lol so it's not just Ds that's hormonal Grin

cheerful I am very Envy of your plans of a vegetable garden . That is something i have always wanted to do . Hows the decorating coming along?

gomummygo · 23/06/2011 13:42

Hello all! Been v. busy here making jams/jellies and freezer packs of fruit for winter.

Cheerful, anything I can help with feel free to ask! You will love it. Plus it is so easy at snack time, I just set DS free! :) He spends about an hour out there every day. We are totally organic so I don't worry too much about the food being properly washed, he just dunks things in a big bowl of water and "lets them swim" for a bit, lol!

Poor DD, Elmo, she has just had such a rough time. Hope she is feeling better soon. Did your dad get home ok? So unpleasant to be ill when you're away from home. Hope things go well with Oscar, I had never even heard of a behaviouralist before - what does she actually do with the doggie?

Tea, how are you, you must get us caught up!

Tiredmum did you ever get a second x-ray for the rest of your foot?

Grin
elmofan · 23/06/2011 17:12

Oooh your veg patch sounds wonderful gomummy Smile Envy

DD is sleeping a lot today poor thing , the vomiting seems to have stopped and I'm getting little sips of water into her . Fingers crossed she will start to perk up very soon . My dad is on the mend thanks Smile My parents got home on Tuesday evening and fell in love with Scotland . They stayed in a little place called North Berwick . My mums legs were aching though with all the hill walking Grin
My dad is taking Ds & my nephew also 12yrs away in his Camper-van for the weekend tomorrow .
Ceebies - you were spot on with the weather predictions Grin Thank you again for that .
The behaviourist is going to start training lessons with Oscar after he has been Neutered , so in 4-5 weeks time hopefully .

OI Valium Have you forgotten us Wink

CheerfulYank · 23/06/2011 17:12

I would love to have a big garden, but every time I've tried it's been a disaster. I've seen some plans for raised beds that look really nice and I might try those. I like to eat organically when possible but I can't always afford it, so it would be nice to have our own veggies. I'm hoping to get lots of tomatoes from FIL this year and make spaghetti sauce, etc, to freeze. We'll see! PIL have also just gotten a bunch of chickens, so I have hopes of free-range eggs. I'd love to have our own chickens but I don't think the neighbors would appreciate it :)

That's great that you found a behavorist Elmo . We looked for one once-we had a black lab named Luca who was lovely but aggressive around food. We took him from a friend whom he had actually bitten at one time. The friend was going to put him down. He lived with us for a year or so but once DS was born we couldn't keep him and no one would take him so he had to go. :( :( Still, I take solace in the fact that he had a good year he wouldn't have had otherwise.

I feel more in the swing of things today...finally getting into a routine after being off of work for a few weeks! It's going to be hard to go back in September.

MMMMMmmmmm croissants!

CheerfulYank · 23/06/2011 17:14

X-post Elmo :) Poor DD, it's rotten to be sick.

elmofan · 23/06/2011 17:20

Aww sorry to hear about poor Luca Cheerful but you absolutely did the right thing by not putting your ds at risk . My dc's get their summer holidays next week Smile .

Anyone seen the movie " Bridesmaids" yet ? I can't wait for it to start over here Tomorrow Smile

gomummygo · 23/06/2011 17:30

It is nice to have our own, but it is a massive job, as we grow all of our veggies, herbs, and most of our fruit for the entire year in the short growing season that we get here. We are able to grow a lot of things that apparently don't grow here though, LOL!

Envy @ your PIL, I want chickens Cheerful! We were planning to do them this year but for various reasons have decided to wait until next spring.

Hope DD is able to keep the fluids in, Elmo. Poor wee girl. :(

gomummygo · 23/06/2011 17:33

Cheerful that must have been hard for you. :( Had a friend who wrestled with a similar situation, only her dog was a bouvier she had "inherited."

CheerfulYank · 23/06/2011 17:33

Yup, I've seen it Elmo. It's funny!

CheerfulYank · 24/06/2011 16:43

Good morning/afternoon everyone! :) I took DS and my friend's two DDs to Mr. Popper's Penguins last night and we're going to have them again to go to the park and library after lunch. I really need to get moving and get out of my sweatpants! :o

How's DD, Elmo ?

Tiredmumno1 · 24/06/2011 18:40
