Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Hedgehogs are great little pets, we used to have African Pygmy Hedgehogs and they used to run around in little wheels and play with cat balls and stuff - adorable little things!

valiumredhead · 17/06/2011 15:42

Awwwwww sweet!

Tiredmumno1 · 17/06/2011 16:27

Awww a cute ickle hedgehog Grin

Its the weekend woo hoo, anyone have anything good planned, i wish i could plan something but i am still busy hobbling round on my crutches, i am a walking disaster Grin

Although i might be glad to stay in, the weather is terrible

valiumredhead · 17/06/2011 16:36

I wanted to plant some more plants I bought but it hasn't stopped raining long enough for me to get out there!

How's your ankle doing tired?

Tiredmumno1 · 17/06/2011 16:41

Its still a bit painful, and the swellings still there valium

Ooo flowers and plants are so pretty, i saw a whole field of poppies the other day, i love them so much, shame they are wild Smile

valiumredhead · 17/06/2011 16:44

We have a bank in our garden and dh has sown meadow flowers on it - just starting to come through - looks really pretty, no sign of poppies but lots of 'blue things' Blush

Tiredmumno1 · 17/06/2011 16:51

That sounds lovely, and you reminded me of bluebells, i used to love walking in the woods just to see the masses of bluebells, sooooo pretty

valiumredhead · 17/06/2011 16:52

I love bluebells too :)

CheerfulYank · 17/06/2011 17:09

We're getting together with the ILs tonight and hopefully working on our floor tomorrow. YAY! I can't wait to be done. Also, I want a hedgehog! :)

Teaandcakeplease · 17/06/2011 20:23

You could've found me on cheerful or Elmo's fb friend list actually. I love FB. In fact I seem to have migrated to there with a lot of mumsnet friends how and post less on mumsnet Smile

Your boys are gorgeous. Love the fact they were asleep in the same bed. Makes my heart melt. Hope my two cheeky chops get to a stage of being buddies instead of squabbling all the time. 17 month age gap is not a good combo right now.

CheerfulYank · 17/06/2011 20:24

I worry about that too...by the time we have another DS will be five at least, I think. Wonder if that's too big a gap to have a genuine friendship?

Teaandcakeplease · 17/06/2011 20:30

No you'll make it work. You'll encourage a good friendship between them I'm sure Cheerful x

It was meant to be now not how on my previous post Blush

Time to catch up on some recorded tv.

Hello Smile How is everyone doing today ?

Having very mixed weather here today . My dad is sick over in Scotland Sad
Looks like he has come down with same dose i had last week . He's very wheezy and he doesn't even have asthma .

I have to buy chicken wire to surround the flower beds as my pooch has started to rip them to shreds eat all the plants

Brew Anyone ?

gomummygo · 19/06/2011 12:53

Morning everyone!

Sorry to hear about your dad, Elmo. :( It is so miserable to be sick when travelling, poor guy.

Would sprinkling the edges of your garden/plants with cayenne pepper stop him chewing them, Elmo? Worked for me with former neighbor's dog.

elmofan · 19/06/2011 13:03

Good morning gomummy . No i've tried chilly pepper and lemon juice and nothing stops him chewing the plants . We bought a spiky plant yesterday as an experiment , It has red leaves with thorn like spikes on it , the idea was to plant a line of these in front of all the other flowers in the hopes that he wouldn't climb through them iykwim . Well the man in the garden centre assured us that Oscar would bite this only once and never touch it again . So dh put it outside with Oscar and we went to the local shop so gone 15 minutes maximum and when we got back the plant was torn to shreds all over the patio and Oscar was lying down chewing on one of its branches thorns & all
Aggghhhhhhhhh

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads on the bench Smile

gomummygo · 19/06/2011 13:52

Wow, he is determined, isn't he Elmo! Shock Assuming you've tried the apple bitter and the spray-on-hot-sauce thing. Hope chicken wire is more affordable there than here!

elmofan · 19/06/2011 14:06

He is Gomummy Sad I have a thread in the dog house section ATM as he is driving me up the wall the last few days . www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_doghouse/1239731-First-session-with-behaviourist-booked-feeling-nervous
Time to call in the experts i reckon.

I also tried a bitter spray that i got in my local pet store . he loves it Confused lay down licking up the drops that fell . Haven't tried the hot sauce so i'll give that a go thanks Smile

Chicken wire is very expensive here too . but i can't think of any other way to stop the dog eating the plants

Tiredmumno1 · 19/06/2011 15:41

Hi ladies, hope you are enjoying the weekend
