I hope everyone is having a good weekend

Anyone join me for a Wine

Tiredmumno1 · 12/06/2011 21:26

Grin @ bionic ankle

valiumredhead · 13/06/2011 08:47

tired my hairline fracture wasn't picked up until 4 days after I was admitted to hospital as they were so concerned about the really broken one, it wasn't until it blew up like a black balloon and the physio insisted that they do a thorough x ray.

Keeping it up is really important as is icing it in 10 min bursts - to help reduce swelling. You need your ankle higher than your knee and your knee higher than your hip otherwise it's not working correctly. Also have you strapped it up? Hospitals aren;t that keen on strapping but physios are and it makes a massive difference. Tescos do a blue cohesive bandage that is reusable and really helps and is easy to do yourself. Hope you're not in too much pain xxx

go still healing and having physio nearly 3 years on - been a long old slog!

valiumredhead · 13/06/2011 08:47

Raining here AGAIN!! I'm off shopping with a friend - back later! :)

Tiredmumno1 · 13/06/2011 17:50

Thanks valium, it sounds horrendous what you had to go through, i seriously wouldnt wish it upon anyone.

I hope you enjoyed your day out, the weather picked up a bit here, well at least it stopped raining Grin

Hi everyone Smile

That's great that ds is on the mend so soon gomummy , children are great aren't they Smile they really bounce back quickly . Yes i have the same cough , dh says i sound like an old man who has smoked all of his life Confused ( i have NEVER touched a cigarette in my life) Mornings are the worst for fits of coughing . Hope you are resting up and hopefully the anti B's will kick in soon x

Tiredmum - you poor thing Sad hope you are taking things very easy ? How is baby Jamie doing ?

Valium - Ouch Ouch how did you manage with TWO broken ankles Sad that must have been so hard to manage .

Cheerful - How is ds feeling now ? is he on the mend after his sickly tummy ?

Cbeebies - Loch Lomond looks beautiful .

CheerfulYank · 13/06/2011 19:03

Oh yuck Elmo, hope you're better soon!

DS is feeling better and I've been playing that video a lot, so he's been walking around singing "Loch Lomond" . Love it! :o

Hope everyone's doing well with their coughs and their hurty ankles and whatnot. :(

ihatecbeebies · 13/06/2011 22:58

It sounds like everyones not well, we've been the same here, me, dp and ds have been passing bugs about each other for the past couple of weeks and now my cat is ill too now if you'll believe it!

Hee hee cheerful thanks for the vid, that song gets played at every family party and the dancefloor is filled - even the shy ones like me that never dance get up and give a wee shake and sing along!

CheerfulYank · 13/06/2011 23:31

Well...if I ever get to Scotland I'll have to try to get invited to someone's wedding so I can sing along. :o

Tiredmumno1 · 14/06/2011 16:56

Elmo, jamie is doing well, he has the cutest giggle Smile, hows everything your end?

Scotland feels so far away, although it would be nice to visit

valiumredhead · 14/06/2011 17:58

I'm just about to jump into bed but had to post this first - we had a bit of sun today Grin - I even braved heading out with just a thin jacket and a scarf for protection lol

gomummygo · 14/06/2011 23:13

Welcome back Tea. Hope you are well.

Afternoon all! :)

Awww@ Jamie giggles, Tiredmum. Give him a snuggle for me!

Cheerful I'd never heard that song before! I actually do have a family wedding coming up in Scotland in July, and since I certainly can't make the trip, perhaps you can pose as me? Grin Haven't seen the groom (cousin) since we were teenagers, so it's entirely possible that you'd get away with it! Have already sent the gift so you're good to go! Grin

CheerfulYank · 15/06/2011 04:20

Oh I can't believe he's old enough to be giggling already! Awwwww!

Glad you're back tea ! Missed you :)

Cbeebies honestly that sounds lovely to me, I hate the heat. Everyone keeps whining about the "cool" summer we're having but I think it's great :o Gomummy if I could afford the plane ticket I would definitely go! I think I could be you quite well. Wink

Hope you're feeling better Elmo !

elmofan · 15/06/2011 14:30

Hi everyone Smile

Welcome back Tea , Did you go anywhere nice ?

Aww Tiredmum just seen your new photo's on FB , bubba is Soooooo cute Smile He's getting big . Hows the ankle?

I'm feeling a lot better thanks , still have the cough and wheeze but I'm finished my Anti B's and steroid tablets and will carry on with the inhalers for the next 3 months . Back to the doctor in 3 weeks for check up on lungs .

How is everyone ?

Parents are all packed and waiting to head off to bonny Scotland tomorrow Envy . Anyone got any holiday plans for this summer ?

I picked up ds's secondary school uniform this morning , it all looks so grown up . DD has her first sports day at school tomorrow Smile she told me this morning that her legs are too short as she keeps coming last in the races Grin (she is the smallest in her class) .

gomummygo · 15/06/2011 16:22

:) Elmo that's quite adorable about DD saying her legs are too short.

No holiday plans here, but we never holiday in summer. And you?

Baking cakes here today, lots of birthdays in the next few days. I know it's been a successful baking day if I am mysterioursly not hungry for dinner. Blush

elmofan · 15/06/2011 16:30

Smile The things she comes out with some times Smile she's a funny little girl.
Lots of family birthdays here too . I've got my sister & mum both 1 day apart and my Dad & brother are on the same day all the last week of June .
I'm welling up here atm ds has brought home a letter from school today informing us that there will be a "graduation from primary school "mass held on the 29th and afterwards the whole school will form a Guard of Honour and ds and his school pals will run through this while the school bell rings for the last time for them Sad it feels like only yesterday i waved him goodbye on his first day of school .

Tiredmumno1 · 15/06/2011 20:29

Evening all,

My ankle is still swollen and painful, thanks for asking.

Grin @ tea, if you are on fb then pm me your details and i'll add ya Grin

How are we all in the middle of this hectic week?

CheerfulYank · 16/06/2011 06:30

That almost made me well up Elmo ! I will cry like a baby on DS's first day of school.

So tired! It's Town and Country Days here...just means that they've blocked off the downtown and put in a carnival, and there was a parade tonight and everything. I'm full of carnival food and EXHAUSTED but I've got to put the recycling out tonight. Bleurgh!

ihatecbeebies · 16/06/2011 12:05

Aw that is lovely Elmo, my DS is graduating from his nursery too next week, then his new primary school have a welcome assembly where all the previous primary 1's welcome the new children to the school and get them up on the stage to give them certificates too, I'm really excited but am bringing tissues along too as I was teary eyed last week just trying his uniform on him!

valiumredhead · 16/06/2011 17:31

How's everyone feeling? :)

gomummygo · 17/06/2011 13:53

DS is doing much better, I am still barking, but on the mend, thanks for the cough mixture Valium! :)

Aww Elmo & Cbeebies, I can't imagine, I will be a blubbering wreck when stages like that come for DS. In fact, if I thought about it for any length of time, I'd be a blubbering mess over it now! Blush

Cheerful the carnival sounds like fun! I always eat too much of that food though! In fact, now when we are heading to such an event, DH always says something like "Now, remember how you ate yourself ill last time...."

Did you end up having to go back about your ankle for further xrays Tiredmum?

Tea you must get us caught up, you've been missed!

valiumredhead · 17/06/2011 15:31

I am SO excited! We have a hedgehog that has taken up residence in our garden Grin ds said "Oh mum he's like a free pet isn't he?" Grin

How's everyone today? :)
