Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Gala sounds like fun cbeebies Smile
Not doing anything exciting here this weekend,
just taking it easy.

cheerful keep meaning to ask you, do you get to sneak in
and watch the movies at the cinema? Grin i reckon i'd be
sacked in no time if i worked there.

CheerfulYank · 11/06/2011 04:10

We get to go for free Elmo and the popcorn and pop is free too. Not sneaking involved! :) Yes, I did make DS a bed on the couch and that's pretty much all we did all day :)

Cbeebies I've always wanted to go to Scotland!

gomummygo · 11/06/2011 13:21

Hello Cbeebies! :)

We both have chest infections (got anti-Bs) and I also have laryngitis Elmo! I have banned DH from teasing me about the lost voice! DS does not understand it, he keeps saying "Mummy you must speak louder, people cannot hear you!" so earnestly, as though he really thinks I'm not aware of it!

Hope you are on the mend.

Probably not going to go to the events this weekend, we are both feeling pretty bleurgh.

Envy @ free popcorn Cheerful!

ihatecbeebies · 11/06/2011 13:51

CheerfulYank you are more than welcome to swap with me as I'm dying to move away! Scotland is a beautiful country and I love going up North camping etc to enjoy the scenery but the awful weather gets you down a lot, for instance we've had one day of sun for the past month and a half and this is meant to be our summer!

gomummygo · 11/06/2011 13:53

Ok, me again, just have to have a rant as my purse has just exploded.

Before DS, I had lots of tiny, stylish purses and would just transfer my wallet/keys/phone/lipstick between them. Ha. Now I have a couple of very stylish but huge purses, though I only ever use one for any length of time as it is such a massive relocation effort to change them. The past few years since becoming a mum my purse has contained everything from baby socks to Thomas trains and always includes raisins and massive amounts of kleenex. If I were to swing it, I believe it could knock out a mid-sized moose.

HOW do other people manage this? I am considering wearing cargo pants just to have a small purse for a trip out! Grin

:)

valiumredhead · 11/06/2011 13:59

elmo hope you are feeling better

tired HOW? Shock You poor thing, after breaking both of my ankles 2 years ago, I can lend you some crutches if you need them Wink

yanky hope ds is feeling chirpier soon!

go sending you lots of get better vibes through the computer screen!

cbeebies hello, nice to meet you! :)

elmofan · 11/06/2011 14:15

Lolgomummy you have just described the same contents of my
handbag (purse) Grin only i have to carry those small bottles
of water around with me as my dc's are always thirsty and babywipes
for grubby hands.
Ds loves cargo pants as he carries all his technology around with
him in all the pockets Grin

Hopefully you and ds will start to feel better soon now you have the
AntiB's. chest infections are nasty.
My parents are heading off to Scotland next Thursday
cbeebies Smile my mum is sooo excited about the trip.
Any good weather forecasted for next week?

Envy oooh cheerful perks of the job ehh Grin

elmofan · 11/06/2011 14:18

Hi valium. Did you check out the sale on plants in tescos?

Hows the planting going?

valiumredhead · 11/06/2011 14:26

elmo no I went to the market - they sell such good quality plants and dirt cheap too! Grin I got
2x fuscias
6x Dianthas
2x pinks
3x daisy type things don't know proper name!
2x lobellias

All for £8! Bargain! Grin

The plant is NOT going anywhere at the moment................. maybe tomorrow............. Wink

elmofan · 11/06/2011 14:38

Envy at your £8. I've spent ?36 on 5 plants so far.
Grin

CheerfulYank · 11/06/2011 15:27

LOL at "knock out a midsized moose" ! I'm the same but I don't have any stylish purses, large or otherwise. I'm a tote bag kind of girl...though they are in pretty patterns. :)

Oooh that sounds like a good deal Valium ! Put up a pic! :)

Cbeebies I don't get too fussed about weather...I live in Minnesota so it's pretty cold here too. Summer is hot but really humid; it's actually my least favorite season. Though swimming in the lakes is lovely!

Yes, the movie theater perks are actually the only reason I'm still there. I'm the only non-teenager who works behind the counter Blush . I was looking for part time work in the evenings so DH could be at home with DS and it was one of the only things available. The three of us usually get in for free, actually, so that's nice. If there's a good kid's feature we can have a nice family day for only the price of the chocolate at the concession stand :)

ihatecbeebies · 11/06/2011 16:07

I think it's going to be cloudy next week elmo but your parents should bring waterproofs with them just incase, even if it doesn't rain they are great for keeping you warm if it is windy, where in Scotland are they going?

ihatecbeebies · 11/06/2011 16:10

Just looked at the met office app for a forecast, I can see up until next Wednesday;

Monday - rain
Tuesday - cloudy/sunny
Wednesday - bad rain
Wednesday night - frosty

So some extra warm clothes just incase!

elmofan · 11/06/2011 17:32

Thats great thanks cbeebies Smile
Parents are going to Edinburgh, staying right
beside the seaside so i've advised them to pack their
Thermals Grin .

Tiredmumno1 · 11/06/2011 18:59

Hiya, thanks ladies, i slipped on the outside bit of the back door, and to be honest we are thinking it still could be broken, its got even bigger since going to the hospital, but they said leave it 5 days and if it is worse they will xray the bits of the foot they didnt do the other day, in case it broke elsewhere, i really am stupid.

Ta valium Grin
I could have done with them the other day, but the hosp let me borrow these thank goodness

Welcome cbeebies, hope you are well, us benchers are lovely

valiumredhead · 11/06/2011 19:14

I broke my ankles going out the back door too! GARDEN is an anagram of DANGER you know!

I hope you haven't done too much damage, lots of ice 10 mins at a time to help the swelling and keep it up as much as possible.

gomummygo · 11/06/2011 20:37

Ooh Valium are your daisies Gerberas? They are DS' favourite. Such sunny, happy looking blooms! :)

Yikes Tiredmum, that doesn't sound good. Hope it is not broken, can't believe they said to leave it 5 days!

Envy of your parents' trip Elmo! I have some relatives in Scotland, I think the place was called Loch Lomond or something like that? Does that sound right Cbeebies?

I'm the same Cheerful, find the summer too humid, stifling. I am a fan of autumn, personally, but the short-lived springtime is nice too. Used to work beside an interesting character who always quoted that saying that our four seasons are: preparing-for-winter, winter, recovering-from-winter, and road construction.

ihatecbeebies · 11/06/2011 21:21

Yup Loch Lomond is really beautiful, here is a nice picture of it that I like;

<a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.virginmedia.com/images/loch-lomond.jpg&imgrefurl=www.virginmedia.com/travel/galleries/best-of-scotland.php&usg=__kHbKiaVwW-ZYzeHc02WsiEgMHII=&h=300&w=400&sz=39&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=dzTcwUSpznkgJM:&tbnh=110&tbnw=160&ei=bc3zTcOQIpC68gPxmsymBw&prev=/search%3Fq%3DScotland" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.virginmedia.com/images/loch-lomond.jpg&imgrefurl=www.virginmedia.com/travel/galleries/best-of-scotland.php&usg=__kHbKiaVwW-ZYzeHc02WsiEgMHII=&h=300&w=400&sz=39&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=dzTcwUSpznkgJM:&tbnh=110&tbnw=160&ei=bc3zTcOQIpC68gPxmsymBw&prev=/search%3Fq%3DScotland,%2BLoch%2BLomond%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1924%26bih%3D1080%26tbm%3Disch%26prmd%3Divnsum&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=463&vpy=317&dur=867&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=109&ty=108&page=1&ndsp=79&ved=1t:429,r:22,s:0&biw=1924&bih=1080

It is a huge address though as I got it from google images but I think I've managed to convert the link so you just have to click on it.

gomummygo · 11/06/2011 22:08

Thanks Cbeebies! I've not seen the landscape before, it looks lovely! :)

Tiredmumno1 · 11/06/2011 22:25

Thanks for the tip valium, i shall do that Smile it hurts so bad, where abouts in the foot/ankle did you break, what did it look like? If you dont mind me asking Smile

I am pleading aswell gomummy that its not but the whole lot inside and out is swollen, and the top of my foot and toes Sad

CheerfulYank · 12/06/2011 16:25

Cbeebies that reminds me of ! I'd forgotten all about it, I think one of my older relatives used to sing it when I was small.

CheerfulYank · 12/06/2011 16:25

Hope you feel better soon Tiredmum ! :( Are you able to keep off your feet much?

valiumredhead · 12/06/2011 16:30

Tired my ankles were a mess as one was broken in 4 places and also dislocated. It needed 3 operations to put it back together. Ds calls it my bionic ankle Grin The other ankle was lots of tissue and muscle damage and 'just' a hairline fracture.

Have they not x rayed it? Confused You poor thing Sad xxx

go not gerberas but look similar - big open faced flowers, really pretty. Can't remember the name and can't go and look at the label as it is PISSING DOWN raining hard!

gomummygo · 12/06/2011 21:13

Poor you Tiredmum, sounds painful. :( Hope the boys (well, at least the bigger ones!) are taking good care of you, and that you are able to keep it elevated somewhat.

A bit Envy of your rain Valium! Gardens desperately need it and I am already sick of lugging watering cans! Your flowers sound lovely.

How did the painting/sleepover go Cheerful?

Are the anti-b's helping Elmo? DS seems to be improving already, thankfully, but I have developed this wretched sounding bark-like cough now - did you have this?

gomummygo · 12/06/2011 21:14

OMG Valium just re-read your post, what a terrible experience with your ankles! Must have taken a long time to heal. :(
