Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

ds would love to stay home (he hates school) but other than the spots he is back to himself .

lol at your hat matching the booster seat Grin I am short too 5ft 2"

Aww valium those thoughts are normal Sad [hugs]

CheerfulYank · 30/04/2011 17:39

Well I'm 5 ft 7, so a booster seat I shall not need. :) LOL at a matching one, gomummy ! :o

I'm so sorry, Valium . It is so hard, even when the person in question has lived a good long life. In Adeline's case she still lived at home, so never had to face leaving it to go to a nursing home, and was active right to the end. She had actually been staying with her daughter in another city during the week so she could care for her baby granddaughter. Her husband just died last year (he was 100!) so didn't really have to be without him long. But still sad. :(

gomummygo · 30/04/2011 23:34

Argh, just typed my whole post and it went off to cyberspace.

Anyhow Envy @ 5'7" Cheerful. I am 5'4" when stretching my neck- which means that I cannot purchase jeans/trousers/anything easily! Regular have to be hemmed, which sometimes doesn't work with the cut, and petite are just a little too short. Argh.

Aww, Valium. Sorry you are still feeling that way. Glad you had a good day yesterday though.

Elmo I haven't had a school-age child, but personally I'd probably not send him if he really didn't want to go, at least until the spots have faded a bit, iykwim. But then I must admit, I have developed a soft spot for your DS so am probably a terrible person to ask! :)

CheerfulYank · 01/05/2011 08:53

I'd let him stay home too, but am the same as gomummy in having a soft spot for him! :)

elmofan · 01/05/2011 11:24

Your both softies Wink
Ds would of course agree with you Grin well his spots don't look as angry this morning so i will wait & see how it goes . He is driving me mad though all i hear is " I'm BORED" & anything i suggest gets a grunt and a Hmm type look lol

cheerful It's lovely that Adeline got to spend time with her Daughter & granddaughter before she passed away Sad iykwim -
The same thing happened to my dh's parents - his mum died first then his dad died 10 months later .

Tiredmumno1 · 02/05/2011 01:48

Just to say i put more pics on profile, be back tomoz, nighty night benchers x

CheerfulYank · 02/05/2011 02:10

Oh your boys are so cute! I just want to smooch Jamie's little cheeks! Love it! :)

gomummygo · 02/05/2011 17:26

Ah Tiredmum your boys are lovely! :) Thanks for putting up the photos!

gomummygo · 02/05/2011 18:42

So how is everyone today?

Big day here (federal election) today. We are off shortly to travel to the voting station. Just wanted to pop by and wave to all you lovely ladies! :)

elmofan · 02/05/2011 18:52

Happy voting gomummy Smile

tiredmum Awww your boys are lovely , Jamie has gotten so big Smile .

I've just read the thread about pixieonaleaf being called a troll and now she has left Sad .

CheerfulYank · 02/05/2011 22:09

Happy voting gomummy !

Our rabbit Daffodil has just died. We loved that bunny. :( DS brought her veggies yesterday and forgot to close the cage. She got out and my brother's dog killed her. :(

CheerfulYank · 02/05/2011 22:09

Oh and Elmo where is the Pixie thread? She's not a troll is she?!

elmofan · 02/05/2011 22:12

Sad oh no cheerful, poor daffodil.
Poor ds is he ok?

elmofan · 02/05/2011 22:25

I'm on my phone atm cheerful but ill do a link
to the thread about pixie in the morning. I really
don't think pixie is a troll, it all happened on the troll
hunting thread last night i think, but the whole thread has been
deleted now & pixie has left MN.
Apparently three posters accused her of being a troll
due to some inconsistencies in some of her posts.
Lots of troll hunters on here lately though.

maryz I came back on MN after putting dd
to bed & couldn't find that thread we were on earlier
did it kick off?
I really hope pixie comes back even under a new name

Oh and welcome to the bench Smile

CheerfulYank · 03/05/2011 01:21

DS is ok Elmo . He's at that age where he doesn't really understand death and is quite curious about it. He was sad but not hysterical or anything, which is good.

Poor little bunny though! My brother saw it happen and hollered at his dog and then at me (I was in the house). The dog let go and Daffodil hopped away and hid under the garden shed. I pulled her out and was holding her. She wasn't bleeding or anything, so I thought maybe she'd be okay, but she just died. It's so silly to be so sentimental, probably, but I'm just glad I was cuddling her when she died.

Anyway! What is everyone else up to?

gomummygo · 03/05/2011 01:32

Cheerful that's so sad about your bunny. :( And that's not silly at all! I'm glad that you were cuddling her too when she died. Poor little thing. She must have been so scared, I hope she got some comfort from you holding her. And I hope you get some comfort from it too, it can be really distressing to lose a pet.

I hadn't seen that thread Elmo. Fwiw, I do not think Pixie is a troll at all. She helped me a lot on a thread I had long ago when I was really worried about something and I will never forget it. I hope she comes back.

Hi Maryz, welcome to the bench!

CheerfulYank · 03/05/2011 02:32

Yes, I remember Pixie PMing me about something too. She was great. :(

CheerfulYank · 03/05/2011 02:35

In other news, I'm considering opening up a childcare business again :)

gomummygo · 03/05/2011 18:03

Ooh Cheerful, can you please move here? I bet DS would love you, and playing with your DS! Even an hour a week to go to appointments would be helpful! :)

Well, we have a Conservative Majority goverment here now. And an NDP Official Opposition. Liberals got absolutely squashed. Bloc Quebecois is annihilated. And that wraps up my election coverage! Grin

Teaandcakeplease · 03/05/2011 21:55

Real life is intruding at the moment and I'm not remotely managing to keep up with mumsnet. But just wanted to pop my head in and say hello! Smile

Off to bed in a mo as the DCs are waking soooooooo early since Scotland still.
