Is there any celebrity well known person that is admired/deemed acceptable by the whole of MN?

I doubt it.

Grin

I'll start by throwing Lauren Laverne and Timmy Mallet into the mix.

Phillip Schofield is supposed to be a nobber in RL.

LetThereBeRock · 24/03/2011 20:10

And after reading Dawn's book I'm not half as fond of her as I used to be.

LetThereBeRock · 24/03/2011 20:10

I don't admire Dolly.She's ok,seems nice enough,but I can't really say that I admire her.

TaudrieTattoo · 24/03/2011 20:10

Where's the fun in Emma Thompson?

All very worthy and talented, but jeez, you wouldn't want to be stuck in the pub, would you?

Whereas Dolly...

wobblyweeble82 · 24/03/2011 20:10

Emma Thompson is marvellous, I concur. Can we not lose Davina Macoll though? She's a shouter.

PuzzleRocks · 24/03/2011 20:11

Helena Bonham-Carter.

PuzzleRocks · 24/03/2011 20:12

MardyBra · 24/03/2011 20:12

ShirleyKnot · 24/03/2011 20:12

oh I love Helena BC as well. But no, it's still Dolly

bulby · 24/03/2011 20:13

Lauren laverne hahaha! I remember when she performed in her rubbishy band at uni, they were really not very good and got heckled, she broke the golden rule of keeping the audience sweet and actually started to slag them off .... Seem to remember they left the stage early!

GrimmaTheNome · 24/03/2011 20:14

I didn't even know who James Corden was - had to google.

TaudrieTattoo · 24/03/2011 20:14

My old boss's niece was in Kenickie with Lauren Laverne.

I like her.

But she's no Dolly.

TaudrieTattoo · 24/03/2011 20:15

Did someone nominate James Corden?

Shock

No. Just no.

MardyBra · 24/03/2011 20:16

Olivia Newton John.

GrimmaTheNome · 24/03/2011 20:17

I can't wholeheartedly admire Emma Thompson - does anyone remember her dire 'comedy' series 'Thompson'? Even her Sense and Sensibility can't quite erase that.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 24/03/2011 20:18

Yes for breathing Mardy.

Lance Armstrong?

Eddie gizzard ran 138 marathons ffs. And is mahoosively funny. And looks great in a frock.

He wins.

And I like Miranda.

MrsBloomingTroll · 24/03/2011 20:19

Yes to Eddie Izzard.

I was behind him once in an airport security queue and overheard him talking to the security lady, who asked him if he was Eddie Izzard.

He said (with a straight face) "No, but I do get that a lot. I suppose I do look a bit like him."

It definitely was him. Very funny, I had to turn away to stop laughing.

MsInterpret · 24/03/2011 20:20

I love(d) Lauren Laverne until I found out she is besties with Myleene!

And 10 o clock live is a bit shit.

GrimmaTheNome · 24/03/2011 20:21

I'll go for Eddie Izzard

oohlaalaa · 24/03/2011 20:23

I like Helena Bonham-Carter

MmeLindt · 24/03/2011 20:24

No to Lance Armstrong for being a philanderer. And to Davina for being thoroughly annoying.

Yes to Eddie Issard, Dolly and Bill Gates. Can we add Steve Jobs for the genius that is iPhone?
