Is there any celebrity well known person that is admired/deemed acceptable by the whole of MN?

I doubt it.

Grin

I'll start by throwing Lauren Laverne and Timmy Mallet into the mix.

Now why didn't that come out right?

Needanewname · 24/03/2011 19:49

Love Dolly!

caramelwaffle · 24/03/2011 19:49

Dolly Parton - yes. Sooo... nice.

MardyBra · 24/03/2011 19:50

I second Kathy Burke, Joanna Lumley and Peter Kay.

What about Miriam Margolyes - she was hilarious on Graham Norton the other day.

Jamie Oliver. I think even if people think he is cheesy or whatever it cant be denied that he tries to do a lot of good things and raise awareness of important issues. At least he is using his celebrity for good

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 24/03/2011 19:50

Janet Ellis.

YouTry · 24/03/2011 19:51

Not the Browns. I'm sorry. I just can't. I'll go for Peter Kay and Colin Firth as people I like but I'm not sure I admire them.

MardyBra · 24/03/2011 19:51

I think Jamie is going to be a bit marmite.

toosoft · 24/03/2011 19:51

Agree Peter Kay and Dolly Parton.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 24/03/2011 19:51

There's a lot of people on here Tanso that don't feel the Jamie love not me though.

greentig3r · 24/03/2011 19:51

Johnny Depp, yes.
Gordon Brown, yes.
Dolly, yes.

TaudrieTattoo · 24/03/2011 19:51

Peter Kay not very nice in real life, by all accounts.

Can we have Dolly as patron saint of MN? Please? She'd love it...

Needanewname · 24/03/2011 19:52

So we're all agreed on Johnny then!

What about Hugh Jackman?

MardyBra · 24/03/2011 19:52

YouTry - good point - do we all have to admire or just deem acceptable. OP clarity please, Chaos.

grovel · 24/03/2011 19:52

No to Peter Kay. The Browns are loathsome.
Peter Mandelson?

TaudrieTattoo · 24/03/2011 19:53

DOLLY!

toosoft · 24/03/2011 19:53

Good idea tawdryhepburn. Dolly as patron saint.

MardyBra · 24/03/2011 19:53

Please not Clarkson - or any of the Top Gear boys.

Nelson Mandela or Bishop Desmond must be fairly acceptable to all.

What about Barack Obama?

greentig3r · 24/03/2011 19:54

Paddy Ashdown (for being pretty dishy for an old codger).:o

yama · 24/03/2011 19:54

Peter Kay is a dick.

greygirl · 24/03/2011 19:55
