To want to jump the telephone engineer over my desk RIGHT NOW!

Help! I'm the only one in my office this afternoon and a telephone engineer has just turned up to sort out some problems we're having. But he is absolutely fecking gorgeous and is flirting very heavily with me - aah! He just grinned at me over the top of my computer screen (from the other side - he can't see this).

I don't know if he's giving off pheremones or something but I can't stop looking at him and could v easily take this a bit further - in my virtual other life that is.

But I'm (v happily) married - so I will do nothing other than flirt - I can't help it.

So AIBU? There is no way I can concentrate on normal work with him looking at me - so I thought doing this will make it look as if I'm busy and calm it all down a bit. Shit he really is lovely.

On a slightly serious note - feel a bit shaken that I can fancy someone so hideously much when I am honestly, honestly happily married Shock

I won't tell you which major telecoms company this was with but they used to have a competition as to who found the sauciest knickers at the end of each day Hmm

they would go out to people's houses to fix broken lines and rifle through the woman's knicker drawer in the hope of winning the prize. I'm not sure if photos were taken or the knickers nicked! I never wanted to know so never found out!

This was a good 20 years ago Grin - I doubt in our litigious society that it goes on any longer! But I never quite looked at telecom engineers in the same light again Wink

Jump your DH when he gets home.

BrainSurgeon · 23/03/2011 16:32

Lizzylou · 23/03/2011 16:35

Grinmy DH works is an IT manager.
He still has to forgage under desks from time to time, to keep his hand in Shock

Thank all that is holy for open plan offices.

Thingumy · 23/03/2011 16:35

If he 'pops in' and wants action in the 'rest room' next wednesday, maybe you can then inform him that you are married.

Hmm
TobyLerone · 23/03/2011 16:36

You didn't do anything wrong, OP, so stop worrying :)

What's funny, though, is that there are probably a hundred threads on Relationships about secretaries and husbands flirting, and I'd bet you anything that the comments are more along the lines of "what a bitch/bastard!" than "you go, girl!"

Then again, as I said earlier, the Relationships board always makes me feel like I'm the weird one for not really giving a toss if my partner flirts with someone else.

BrainSurgeon · 23/03/2011 16:36

That was uncalled for.

MmeLindt · 23/03/2011 16:38

Actually, it is a damn good sign that OP's marriage is a good one, since she pulled back before it got really interesting anywhere near dodgy.
