Just happened upon the last one and liked it, so ...

I don't think The King's Speech is that great a film; I think the directing was often unimaginative, cliched and banal and the script obvious. And Helena Bonham Carter wasn't that good.

ps we are above the eco-system if we choose to be above it - we have no need to eat animals, we just want to, which is different.

Runningjustasfastasican · 20/03/2011 22:13

Gebrannte Mandeln

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 22:13

Goblin change your opinion of Lancs. THere's a place in southern Spain called La Linea which is possible the most depressing and ugly town I have ever seen!

I think parts of Lancs are stunning. BUt then parts of London are beautiful and parts are shite...

Kasespaetzl is a thing of the gods. I agree. But toffees are nicer still.

However, I love snails, so I accept that people may judge my taste.....

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 22:15

Gebrannte Mandeln - yup, love them too. In fact will get some tomorrow. Oh Yeah.

4FoxAche · 20/03/2011 22:16

I think those Highland Toffee Bars are absolutely gorgeous and am pissed off that I have never seen them sold anywhere since I left Lancashire 11 years ago.

So one good thing about Lancashire I suppose!

bupcakesandcunting · 20/03/2011 22:17

People who cannot differentiate between disabled parking space/P&C parking space entitlement are the worst kind of moron and frankly it is worrying that people this thick are allowed to breed OR drive.

Fluteyboots · 20/03/2011 22:17

They used to sell them in our leisure centre. Alongside wham bars

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 22:18

Vallhala · 20/03/2011 22:19

Meat eaters are barbaric. :o

Fluteyboots · 20/03/2011 22:19

No they are the work of the devil. They pull fillings out.

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 22:19

Grin Bup

And I can get Wham bars too. And Refresher bars. And Parma Violets.

4FoxAche · 20/03/2011 22:20

FluteyBooys

Yeah, I always remember running to the vending machines after i'd been swimming to get as many as I could.

Oh the days.....

Wham Bars, my god I miss those too.

Fluteyboots · 20/03/2011 22:20

Ewwww Parma violets. May as well eat soap.

Runningjustasfastasican · 20/03/2011 22:20

Oh and bratwurst! Sorry, just wishing I was in Germany

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/03/2011 22:21

Two thirds of the posters on this thread are thick bastards.

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 22:21

I grew up there so love a lot of things German rub wise!

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 22:21

Fluteyboots · 20/03/2011 22:21

Nice that leisure centres all seemed to stock such a healthy snack selection :o

Runningjustasfastasican · 20/03/2011 22:22

Can you get me some gebrannte mandeln please

bees474 · 20/03/2011 22:23

Only two of the midwives I have ever met were nice.
I quite agree re the home births - selfish hippies!
I bfd my son till he was 2 and a bit but in retrospect I fully agree that that was weird and far more about me than about him.
People who moan about teachers should shut up unless they have ever done it themselves.
Marriage is a ridiculous concept - though I am prepared to accept that my thinking on that may be just because my own marriage is a disaster..
Born again Christians. NO.
I totally agree that Gordon Brown is shaggable.

bupcakesandcunting · 20/03/2011 22:24

I think that that percentage increased with your arrival, GetOrf Wink

Fluteyboots · 20/03/2011 22:25

Hungry, yes. Lusty, yes.

Thick? Not me!

spiderslegs · 20/03/2011 22:25

Starcunt 'tis a joke - I am from Yorkshire

Vajazz - please don't get me started on vegetarians - or do if your anemic hands have the strength to type a coherent argument....

PoppetUK · 20/03/2011 22:25

having lived in two countries I can no longer give my honest opinions about the places and people because they will be unpopular opinions to someone......

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 22:25

Seriously Running I'll be back in the UK in 3 weeks and will happy bring you some if you like!

Bees just no. NO. NO. NO. Gordon Brown is NOT shaggable. Sarah Brown might think so, but he's not...
