You're a complete arsehole.

OP posts:
NeverGoogleZombieJuice · 18/03/2011 23:37

oh leave the OP alone, it's the one day in her vile existence that she has actually done something worthwhile....

applauds OP for her amazing donation, and exects to hear about this for the next few years...

i.e remember that time i donated x amount to comic relief...knobhead

hissymissy · 18/03/2011 23:37

OP isn't being U if what (s)he really meant was those who never donate to anything, who don't really care about other people, children starving etc, and who can afford to donate but choose not to.

However, I would imagine those kind of people would be very few and far between.

sundayrose10 · 18/03/2011 23:37

I'm not even watching it.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 18/03/2011 23:38

ahhh - but hissy - the OP specifically says comic relief Wink

LauraNorder · 18/03/2011 23:39

I have googled and now know what tithing is! Smile

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 18/03/2011 23:39

Does anybody really believe that the OP has done anything for CR or any other charity ever? I don't. He/She probably pledged something to get their name on the screen and I expect CR can whistle for the money...

How's that for generalising, OP? You sound like the type who wouldn't do anything without a round of applause.... failing that, a little spiteful thread where you can spout off some bile?

People like you, OP, are full of pretention and actually, you'd be doing CR a greater service if you just left it... you couldn't persuade people to breathe, never mind donate.

littleducks · 18/03/2011 23:40

I didnt really donate, i had to pay 50p for dd to waer pjamas to school. I havent been watching.

There are charities that I do donate to (and i am not going to get into frequency or amount as i thinks its ditasteful, i dont donate to show off or try to appear better than others that donate). The charities I donate to are carefully chosen mostly on the basis that either all or the highest percentage possible is spent on the cause and not admin/staffing expenses. These charities do equally good work.

I dont need CR to remind or encourage me to donate to charity, it is an issue that I have got covered.

But I recognise some people may need a reminder and dont start gloating threads about how much better I am than others beacuse I have donated.

hissymissy · 18/03/2011 23:40

oh I know, just playing devil's advocate Smile

LilaTheBrave · 18/03/2011 23:40

Good grief you really do amaze me......

OP posts:
skippitydoodah · 18/03/2011 23:41

I think giving to charity is really important. But I have the charities that I support wholeheartedly. When it comes to Red Nose day I don't give on an emotional impulse. I like to contribute all year round as long as finance allows. I'm not a complete arsehole.

LauraNorder · 18/03/2011 23:41

I think the feeling is mutual Biscuit

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 18/03/2011 23:42

"Good grief you really do amaze me......"

Why thank you !!! It's always great to have positive feedback on my videos - especially as I've only just started doing them. Wink

tothebitterend · 18/03/2011 23:43

I know where I remember your name now lilathebrave - did you purchase that £110 scarf you were hankering after in the end?

MirandaGoshawk · 18/03/2011 23:43

Poor little babies who need a £5 mosquito net - how could you watch the programme and not stick your hand in your pocket? Those people, I think the OP means, are mean/lazy/hard-hearted (take your pick).

GypsyMoth · 18/03/2011 23:44

£110 scarf!!

that would feed us all for 3 weeks!!!

penguin73 · 18/03/2011 23:44

Why Lila?

I wonder whether you apply the same label to those who don't wear a daffodil/pink ribbon/red ribbon/H4H wristband/poppy/yellow wristband/green wristband or pin/yellow teddy bear/tartan heart etc etc etc.
There are so many charities, so many appeals. Do you give them to them all? Why is one more worthy than the others?

tothebitterend · 18/03/2011 23:44

That scarf would keep you lovely, cosy and warm underneath that cold bridge of yours LilaTheBrave

LilaTheBrave · 18/03/2011 23:46

Ha! I knew the scarf would come up, no didn't actually, but my point was how can you watch it and not donate? Seriously?

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 18/03/2011 23:47

because Lila....some of us CANT....not wont....CANT!!!

or like me,didnt watch it!

tothebitterend · 18/03/2011 23:47

You need to reword your OP Lila.

HTH.

silverfrog · 18/03/2011 23:48

so is it ok to not donate if I didn't watch it?

or ok to not donate to other charities because they don't get prime time tv coverage?

why on earth is it ok to donate only when people in need are paraded across our tv screens in some tasteless tv marathon?

NeverGoogleZombieJuice · 18/03/2011 23:49

YABU not to have purchased that scarf! Think how warm it could have kept the gardener while he planted pretty rose bushes next to your moat

OP - you're a wanker

tothebitterend · 18/03/2011 23:50

Silverfrog - y, contrary to the OP you are now only an aresehole if you watch comic relief but don't donate.

If you don't watch it presumably you are off the hook even if you've never donated to a charity in your life.

We need to get the OP to clarify what 'watching' it means now. I caught a snippet when I changed channels - OP, am I going to hell now?

midlandsmumof4 · 18/03/2011 23:51

Maybe the OP misconstrued Dermot earlier when he said he felt guilty for not contributing in previous years whilst watching.......if so she could have phrased it more appropriately Grin

tothebitterend · 18/03/2011 23:51

y y nevergoogle - she could have tied it over her poimty ears to muffle the sound of goats a-trip-trapping over her head.

Poor taste Lila, poor taste.
